Miner is a native media player built for your personal video library. Watch videos from your NAS, computer, or local folders on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac.
No media server to set up. No files to download first. No transcoding. Add an SMB2 or SMB3 share, find a video, and press play.
STREAM DIRECTLY FROM YOUR NAS
Play videos straight from a NAS, Windows PC, Mac, or Linux/Samba share. Miner reads the original file without copying it to your device or sending it through a remote transcoder, so your video keeps its original quality.
ONE ENGINE FOR THE FORMATS YOU USE
Play MKV, MP4, AVI, TS, MOV, M4V, WMV, and other common containers through one consistent playback engine. Hardware-accelerated VideoToolbox decoding supports H.264 and HEVC video, including 4K, 10-bit, HDR10, and HLG content.
SUBTITLES FROM WHEREVER THEY LIVE
Use subtitle tracks embedded in the video or external SRT and ASS files stored beside it. Miner also displays graphic subtitle formats including PGS and VobSub.
Text encoding is detected automatically, including UTF-8, GB18030, and Big5. You can adjust the size, color, background, and position of text subtitles to suit your screen.
SWITCH AUDIO WITHOUT STOPPING THE PICTURE
Change languages or commentary tracks while the video keeps playing. Miner supports AAC, AC3, E-AC3, DTS, FLAC, Opus, MP3, and other common audio formats, with output up to 5.1 channels.
SEEK WITH CONFIDENCE
Responsive seeking makes it easy to land where you intended. Scrub with live picture feedback, resume from where you stopped, or watch at speeds from 0.5x to 2x.
A LIBRARY THAT REMEMBERS
Favorite the folders you watch most and see them together on the home screen. Recently played videos retain their resume points, while recently added items help you spot what is new. Posters are generated from frames in your own videos.
Optional background scanning builds an on-device index of your favorite folders. Search responds as you type without repeatedly querying your NAS, and previously indexed titles remain searchable while the server is asleep.
