Wayward Souls is an action-adventure game built for quick playthroughs and massive amounts of replay value. It was inspired by Spelunky, Secret of Mana, and our previous game, Mage Gauntlet.
Procedurally generated random levels mean that every time you play the game, it's a different experience. Control one of six characters, all with their own unique playstyles, abilities, and equipment. Explore and fight for survival, in combat where your tactics, positioning, and timing matter.

Despite the difficulty, or perhaps because of it, the game is massively addictive.The controls are smooth and intuitive and each of the classes is radically different from the other making for high replay value. If u want a challenge this is totally worth the price

Here's a new giant content update for Wayward Souls! We have added an all new playable character: Gallus, the Paladin. He is extremely powerful when he gets all his abilities, but also has to face an extra difficult dungeon designed specifically for him!
- Adds the Paladin, unlocked after completing the Shadow dungeon or dying in that dungeon 20 times
- The Paladin has his own long, extra difficult dungeon, a new storyline, and all new weapons, equipment, and abilities!
- New music tracks added!
- You can now unlock Cultist without beating Labyrinth, by dying in that dungeon 20 times, as a way to help people that are stuck
- New higher difficulty added to the monster generation, to support Paladin's story. This can also show up in the other hard dungeons during rare rooms!
- New special appearances for Gauntlet bosses
- Other tweaks and fixes
This is likely our last big content update for the iOS version, but we're also planning a small update in the future!

Paladin Update should be next! Likely in the first quarter of 2017, we have to wrap up the PC version first so we can port the PC content to the update.
It will be our last content update for Wayward Souls. New character class with new abilities, new special dungeon for that character, and his own story. Then other new features and content, such as rare minibosses, new songs, new animations for every character and monster, and more!

Here's another content update! This one adds something for both our most skilled players, and something to help people that have gotten stuck. Paladin Update with save sharing/backup support is going to be the next big update, and that should come out at around the same time as the PC version of the game.
- New mode! Gauntlet Mode is a 6 floor dungeon that's designed to be quick to play, but extremely difficult.
- You can now unlock classes by finding chests in Mines/Tower/Catacombs, instead of having to beat each area. This is to help people that get stuck. The amount of chests required are 30/50/70.
- Pet added: Cave Crab.
- Pets have a 20% chance per floor, up from 15%.
- Rare pets have a 4% chance to be found, up from 2%.
- Bugfix for Rocketcat not attacking.
- Fix for text after beating Labyrinth.
- Rat Buffs: %5/10 lootfind upped to 10% and 15%.
- Slug nerfs: 10/15 +maxhealth lowered to 5 and 10.
- Slimespawn reduced to 5 maxhealth, buff duration stays the same.
- Chatterpile to +10 health instaed of +15.
- Silken Spider up to 7% lootdrop, runspeed is the same.
- Gnomey to 20% lootdrop, coindrop still at 25%.
- Cave Newt and Mine Bat to 3 +healthrecovery instead of 5.
- Fire Salamander and Duck to 6 +healthrecovery instead of 10.
- Spellsword weapon upgrades now properly have their charge attack phase through spells.
- Skull's fireball AOE subtracts an attack charge for every shot rather than every hit. This applies to other attack pets too.

Here's a new major update, with another one coming soon. In an update in early 2016, we're adding a final new character: the Paladin. He'll have his own mode and story, and this Paladin Update will include other features from the upcoming PC version.
New in this update:
- Major new feature: Pet system! You now have a small chance of finding different pets in the dungeon. Some pets attack, some provide stat bonuses.
- New sprites and animations for the different pets.
- Testing a better animation system with more frames for walk animations. Using the pets to test them for now, let us know what you think!
- Tweaks and fixes.
- New rare content and rooms added.

- Decoy works like the mage's item, Walwin's Frock
ADVENTURER
- Using a lantern now roots you in place for 0.4 seconds.
- All lanterns now do 20-40% more damage, depending on type. We may adjust these numbers later.
- Normal lantern: 33% more damage. Shadow lantern: 40% more. Wispfire lantern: 20% more.

Third update plans -
Not yet sure if the third update will come before the PC update, or be rolled into it. If it comes before, we're thinking of the following:
- More achievements (didn't get around to adding more for this update)
- A new simple dungeon mode or two. Endless took up all our time for this udpate.
- Better save syncing, possible Dropbox support for saves
- A couple more tweaks to Rogue, like changing her Hush Slipers and Black Cat Braces
- Some more tweaks to Adventurer, such as fixes for the Tamed Sprite not doing damage properly.

Huge amount of changes and additions! Read to the bottom for more details on our plans for the second update.
- New Dungeon: The Labyrinth. 20 floors of pain, and the conclusion of the stories of the current six characters.
- New boss for The Labyrinth.
- Fixes for the zoom-in bug for iPad 1 and iOS 5.1.1.
- Control tweaks for iPad devices, you can set movement and swipe sensitivy separately.
- Health potions are no longer awful.
- Automatic screen flipping.
- Map now also shows your floor number.
- Try to charge up a power attack when low on energy will no longer prevent you from moving.
- You no longer get an energy regeneration bonus for charging up a power attack.
- Hats stay on your head instead of unequipping.
- Match Hat Color moved to the hatbox menu instead of options.
- A bunch of new hats.
- REPEAT STORY: ON/OFF toggle in options menu.
- Gauranteed rare chest after each boss.
- Chests can now be destroyed after being opened, to prevent weird situations where you could get stuck.
- Some fixes to level generation in the first three dungeons.
- Increased gold drop rate in the third and fourth dungeons.
- Rare chests now drop normal hats if you run out of rare hats to find.
- Guard Captains should no longer attack you immediately when they take damage.
- Flame traps should be a bit more forgiving now.
- Tapping during the retry/victory epitaphs now skips the text much faster.
- Reflection damage buffed to triple of what it was.
- Super Secret Area, will YOU survive its enigmatic horrors?
- Various other minor tweaks and fixes.
