Notability 4+

Notability remains my favorite app on iPad as it does everything I need, i.e. note-taking, search, view two notes side-by-side, iCloud sync with iPhone and Mac, other cloud storage backup, etc.

However, I want to suggest some features which I’d love to have, which should it an even better tool for studying!

1. Grid view/ light box view of pages (instead of only stripe view)
- this will help for quickly overviewing my entire notes
- i currently import PDFs (converted from PowerPoint) to Notability for note taking in class, as I like to consolidate everything in this app). In this case, if I have a long note with many pages, I’d like a faster way to viewing them. Instead of just filtering the bookmarked pages.
- a grid view, like printing 4-9 pages on A4 paper would be great

2. jump (navigate) to a specific page
- continue to above case, if I have a long note, I’d like to go to a specific page really quickly. Not sure if I missed this function or not, I just can’t find it.
- so now I need to scroll through the long stripe to go to that page

3. battery life on Mac
- it seems to use a lot of battery on my Mac
- I wonder why... is it due to iCloud sync?

Nevertheless, I love this app, and I use it everyday for my study. Hope it will get even better! I’m willing to pay if there will be some more advanced features in future! (Need to make sure my current notes will keep working of course.)

I have been using Notability for a month and generally happy with it. But I have two complaints about it.
1) the folder system is too old fashion and not suit my need. I need to generate many folders and folders within folder to classify my files. In Notability they only offer two folder ties. I wrote to Notability and they said they will keep this.
2) if you have a password protected pdf, it will be blanked after export to Notability. Another note taking apps can open perfectly and it will ask password for once. Notability seems not notice there is password protect pdf.

If you are looking for voice recording, Notability is your only choice.

I love Notability, I probably use this app the most out of all apps I own on my iPad Pro, especially for school. But lately I’ve noticed that Notability drains my battery even faster than when I stream Netflix. I used to be able to use this app for 5 hours straight without even going lower than 70% battery. Starting from two weeks ago I noticed that after using the app for just over a 1 hour lecture my battery went down to 50%. Could you guys look into the battery usage of the app? Maybe it is just my iPad needing to be serviced, but in comparison to my other apps Notability currently drains the most battery.
