Skyscanner - 機票、廉航票、飯店訂房、租‪車‬ 4+

Excellent application

I have been using the application for almost 2 years. It gives me a big variety of choices for travelers to choose, from flight, hotel to other services. I was recommended to use by my friend and would recommend this application to other people too.

Fluctuating price by times of searching

It’s for sure a very convenient way to search for flights and compare the prices, however, most of the time the prices fluctuate according how many times you searched. Many time I want to book a flight and the price just tripled when I chose the agency I would like to book with. And when you wanted to choose another agency then, their price also increased. It’s sometimes really frustrated...Especially one month ago I had an emergency that I had to fly somewhere, when I first looked for the flight, it was €330 one way, but when I wanted to book, it rise up to €710! This is unbelievable!

We update prices regularly and flight prices and availability are subject to change quickly. The prices will be updated when you click on 'details' or 'book', so that you’re always seeing the best price available from the airline or agent at the time you're booking.Also, it’s worth mentioning that as flight availability can change rapidly based on traveller demand, at times a flight that you have selected might not be longer available at that price or not available at all. Don’t trust the price that you see

The big problem with Skyscanner is that they rely on other travel websites to feed them prices and some of those (such as Expedia) are unreliable (or even maybe scams). Hence very often, the cheapest price that you see cannot be booked.

This is what happened to me yesterday:
- 8am: I booked a ticket through Expedia
- 11:30am: They tell me the airline cancelled my flight and i need to pay for an upgrade if I want to stay on that flight. They the system should have allowed to make the booking as the fare is no longer available with the airline.
- 7pm: I check Skyscanner and Expedia again and the fake price is still showing there.

Skyscanner shows websites ratings but I don’t find them helpful at all. If you do a bit of research and check reviews sites such as TrustPilot you will see that my story is not an isolated case.

Conclusion: you cannot trust the price that you see.
