The app requires permissions for location tracing.

By visiting one of the physical locations of the installation Unvoiced Territories and allowing location tracing you can inhabit and activate this artwork.

This global app will gradually include locations worldwide, with the first version in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Self-made software allows for written text only available on the app to be digitally inscribed on the ground. Prerecorded voices are matched to these locations so that the geographical positions of the written letters on the map correspond to their speech sounds. When you switch on the app and traverse the written text in the city, your phone emits the sounds of the phonemes according to where on the written text you are or move over in real time. This allows you to sonically and spatially navigate, inhabit and explore the speech voices, as you wander through the city and move through the text.
