A few features away from perfect

Trying out some of the other apps have left me positively thinking this app is absolutly the best on the market. It was money well spent and I really cannot say i didn’t get the moneys worth. However, taking in acount that it is an app focused on note taking and markup I find the lack of writing tool options seriously disturbing. The style and brush options are fun to play with, but there is no point in having different stroke styles when note taking. It would perhaps be better to have implemented the various types of line styles like dotted or dashed line. Give the user more advanced options when labeling and drawing. The ability to draw precissely with these would be a great feature.

As a computer science and engineering student focusing on robotics, the lack of these tools bothers me and definitely disrupts my workflow. Hopefully it will be a feature implemented in one of the following updates as it would surely mean the world to people in more technically focused areas of expertise.

Fortunately enough, this is the only feature I have found lacking while using this application for my regular college related work during the last year.

All in all, a job well done and a big thank you to the developers for keeping it a well maintained product. Would definitely recommend.

A few more features and it would be beyond PERFECT!

I have tested numerous note taking apps in my pursuit for a perfect one that would meet all of my needs. I eventually decided to go with GoodNotes, and I use it daily; for work, personal, educational and creative purposes. Taking all those in acccount, I believe these three upgrades would be a game changer for this app.

1/ reminders
A lot of my friends, including me, use GN as a daily/weekly planner where we input all of our task. At this point we all have to rely on additional task app just to set reminders, which is super inefficient.

2/ wider selection of writing/drawing tools
It’s hard to get creative with sketches and ideas with limited tools for drawing and writing. Doesn’t have to be Procreate ☺️, but maybe just a few more options like pencil, spray, crayon?

3/ voice recording
Notabilty has one amazing feature, invaluable for students taking a class, or work peeps jotting down minutes from a meeting. Any notes take down while recording are linked to that recording. An absolutely invaluable asset when you can’t remember the context in which you wrote a note.

Feels arrogantly bad

I've been using Goodnotes 5 for the past few years and while it had it's problems and deficiencies that the users have been complaining for years (like adding a ruler type of feature that would help with drawing sketches especially of student that are in engineering), there was still fixed price for the app and it didn't exclude users based on how they want to pay for the product. However, Goodnotes 6 does not only experience significant price jump (from 10$ to 30$) and comes as an "upgrade" of GN5 but it is also not that much different from GN5. There are small changes within the app interface including: sidebar, ability to change map colour, as well as some writing gestures. Added AI features are not reliable, mathematical writings that can turn into font is all useless. All in all, seems like something a first year comp engineer could do over a lunch break.
