I like the app but there is room for some improvements. User should be warned that the payment will be declined when authorising a payment for an amount that is above the card payments limit. There could also be a button to open a new dialog where you could request an increase to the limit.

The George Hrvatska banking app, developed by Erste Bank, aims to serve as a comprehensive mobile banking solution but falls short in delivering a robust user experience. The app provides only basic functionalities, including a simple transaction history, minimal spending insights, and a basic transaction query system. When compared to competing banking apps, which often offer more advanced features and detailed financial tools, George Hrvatska feels outdated and limited, failing to meet the expectations of modern banking customers. Erste Bank would benefit from studying competitors to enhance the app’s capabilities and user interface.My recent experience with the app was particularly frustrating when I needed to address an error in a transaction description. I completed and submitted a refund request form through the app, expecting to track its progress. However, the app provided no way to monitor the status of my request, leaving me uncertain about whether it was being processed. Ultimately, I learned that the refund could not be processed because it involved a SEPA transfer, and I was forced to contact the recipient directly to arrange for the return of the funds. This process was time-consuming and unnecessarily complicated, highlighting a significant shortfall in the app’s functionality.To improve the user experience, I suggest Erste Bank implement an optional feature, such as a configurable delay of approximately one minute for SEPA transfers, which would allow users to cancel transactions in case of errors. This feature could be enabled or disabled in the account or user settings, offering flexibility while preventing costly mistakes. Until such improvements are made, the George Hrvatska app remains a basic tool that struggles to compete in the modern digital banking landscape, leaving much room for enhancement to better serve its users.

App is not bad, but is missing some important features that I need to have on my mobile banking app. Most importantly, there is no way to setup push notifications when account receives payment. Currently you can only receive one push per day, if a change on the account occurred; and even that feature doesn’t work properly, since i receive a notification even if balance is the same. This is something that’s very important to me, e.g. PBZ banking app has this feature. Secondly, it would be very nice to have the option to open scan&pay functionality directly from homescreen, please add that quick action. Currently, by using Home Screen quick actions, I can only access the Currency Converter or see branch/atm locations.

In my case, the app does not even work. I have already m-banking installed and active, i have installed George app and tried to activate it via m-banking. The app switches two times between m-banking and George asking me my m-token (fingerprint) and finally Error message appears: “An error has occurred. Please try again later.” I have tried later couple of times, even after rebooting the phone, but no luck. The other option is to visit bank office to get the activation codes, which is actually not an option, especially if this one is advertised that you do not need to come to the bank. Since in the past i have had not so positive experience from Erste bank developer team it is nothing strange for me to see the app not working really. Think i will hold onto m-banking app until is not available to use anymore. George is definitely still “under construction”. Regards, Leo
