Room for improvement
24/01/2021

The application itself protects drivers well, where on the other hand, on the clients side, is a lot of room for improvement. A few times the situation looked like this:• Driver takes the request.• The estimated wait is 3 minutes.• Waiting for the driver exceeds 15 minutes. • The driver cancels. • Clients wait exceeds 20+ minutes which makes it hard for planning and doesn’t protect the client for being cancelled again. After pick up - there isn’t an option to contact the driver nor cancel the drive - which was needed in a “stolen ride” situation. (I couldn’t abort my request. Other people got in. Bolt driver took them for my ride. I couldn’t send a request for a new drive until after 30 minutes of them driving on my pick up.) The client isn’t protected, but the driver got a paid ride. However, the application is user friendly. It has in-app payment. A history analysis is given.

So I don’t think it is ok that you charge me a cancelation when I see that driver accepted my ride on the other side of the city, and then I see that same vehicale is not moving for over 22 minutes. Eather there is a bug in map or someone is hacking the system. Also it was the first time that someone who is not near me accepted my ride. I do have a screenshot of this and you probably have it in your record. I do advise you investing a bit more in driver management, who and where is acceptong what and Are they even moving. I am sure they have GPS in ther apps. Still when someone order a ride, and is expecting at least a five min deley, they not expecting 22 min or a half an hour deley. That imacts my time. And my time also costs. Plus it make me feel dissapointed, and cheated. Especially cause the UX for support is well I would not go in to dark UX, but in the end you have no one to communicate some issues.

Hi there, that should never have happened. If you were charged a cancellation fee even though the driver accepted your request and then didn’t move, it needs a review. Please open ☰ Account > Support and select the trip so we can check the timeline and assist. We will keep working to make this right for you!

Bolt took a much higher amount of money than they quoted me

I have used Bolt for 2 years and although there have been times where the initially quoted price is a bit higher, in my last ride they took a significantly higher amount of money out of my account than was initially offered to me when I accepted the ride. I reached out to customer support and they only are willing to give a voucher for a future ride. They are refusing to refund the difference. This to me is theft because Bolt does not have the right to take money beyond what a customer agreed to if there were no changes ( no extra stops, no extra traffic, no changes to the route) and then tell the customer that they have to use the money they wrongfully took on another Bolt ride. I do not recommend Bolt and especially not your bank details linked to their app.

First of all, false advertising regarding the price. In a situation where there was more traffic jam during the reservation than while driving, they charge 30% higher under the excuse the ride took longer than expected, which is not true. It took less time than expected. It makes no sense for the app to calculate a shorter ride when there’s actual traffic jam. Secondly, they charged the ride twice, I’m positive people often do not see this as I would not notice it if I didn’t get charged higher than I should. Once they pay you back the difference, they give it in Bolt credits which is bizzare. Maybe I don’t want to use your app anymore and want the money on my account, not on your app. Embarrassing

Developer Response
Hi there, that doesn’t sound right. If your final fare ended up higher than the price shown and you were charged twice, it needs a review. Please contact us via ☰ Account > Support and select the affected trip so we can check the pricing details. Final fares can vary with traffic, route changes, and destination changes. Thank you for flagging this, we keep working to get this right!
