Downstep

Breathe. It listens.

Only for iPhone

A calming visual that follows your actual breathing in real time — through the mic or just your finger. No account, no ads, nothing tracked. Downstep watches you breathe and shows it back to you. Prop your phone nearby and it listens through the microphone, turning your real breathing into a calming visual that settles as you slow down — with a gentle nudge if it stays fast. No mic, or somewhere loud? Track by touch instead: drag to breathe in, drag back to breathe out. Same effect, no sound needed. What makes Downstep different: • Responds to your actual breathing, not a fixed countdown timer • Two ways in — microphone or touch — so it works anywhere, including a noisy room • Three optional background sounds (Rain, Birds, a generative Lofi track) or full silence • Shows you concretely how long it took to calm down this time • No account, no login, nothing to set up Downstep doesn't diagnose or treat anything — it's a simple, private tool for the moment you need to slow down. Your microphone audio is processed on your device only, in real time, and is never recorded or sent anywhere.
