Should we learn English from horribly bad translations? There are underlined words in the text, on which a randomly selected meaning of the word appears, which is either completely wrong, or the word does have that meaning, but it does not fit in that context at all, but some other meaning would fit there. I have also come across one where even the word type of the randomly selected meaning was not correct, which made the entire text completely meaningless. If you click on the icon next to the paragraph, the translation of that paragraph pops up, but most of the time it's also some stupid nonsense. In my opinion, it was all mixed up by some robot brain without human control, so that there would be something that could be sold for money. This is a very self-serving stunt, not in the interests of people who want to learn. The basic idea is quite good: by reading simple books, learn English almost as a game, look up the words you don't understand in a dictionary on the spot, so that you can move on faster and thus even enjoy reading. The words that have been extracted in this way can be included among the words to be learned. This idea is excellent, I've seen it before, but the execution is very poor. In my opinion, this is a harmful act, i.e. obtaining money based on fraud.

Dear Support Team,I am submitting this email as a final formal complaint regarding the unauthorised renewal charge made to my bank account for the EWA language application.On 7 February 2026, I contacted your support team and requested a refund of the subscription fee. This request was not fulfilled. Instead of resolving the refund issue, your team provided me with a link where I was instructed to cancel the subscription.I followed your instruction and cancelled the subscription. In addition, I cancelled the subscription directly on my Apple/iPhone account, removed the app from my subscription list, deleted the EWA application from my mobile device, and stopped using your service entirely.Despite this, approximately three months later, my bank account was charged again for another three-month subscription period.This is unacceptable. I do not understand how a further charge could be made after I had already cancelled the subscription through the link provided by your support team and also through Apple/iPhone subscription management.To make matters worse, when I contacted your support team again, I was told once more that no refund would be issued and that I should use a cancellation link on your website. That link is no longer functional, and in any event, I had already cancelled the subscription months ago.I do not consent to being redirected back to the application or to a non-functional cancellation link. I have already cancelled the subscription. The issue is not that I need to cancel again. The issue is that I was charged again after cancellation.I expect your written confirmation by email within 24 hours.

You cant cancel your subscription

I had an EWA subscription, but the translations were so poor that I decided to cancel it. Unfortunately, the app doesn't even provide an option to cancel your subscription, so I assumed that deleting my account would automatically end it.It didn't.EWA and Paddle are still charging me every month even though my account no longer exists.I contacted customer support and explained the situation. They simply sent me a link where I was supposedly supposed to cancel my subscription, completely ignoring the fact that I no longer have an account and therefore can't log in to cancel anything. It felt like they just wanted to get rid of me.Since then, they have stopped responding altogether. At this point, it looks like my only option is to block my bank card and request a new one just to stop these unauthorized charges.Don't subscribe. Based on my experience, this feels like a complete scam.
