This is more like a question/suggestion regarding the app. Isn’t there a ‘mute option’ for only the Messenger?It would be so great if there was a Silent Mode for the whole app rather than just the option to mute a specific person. The reason why is because e.g I don’t want to turn on the silent mode on my phone during the night because I want to be available for emergencies. However there are friends from different time zone who can send me messages while it is in the middle of the night for me and I don’t want to wake up for the notification.(I know I could turn off only the internet and would still be available for calling but this option would be so great)Anyway this is a great app, Thanks for your hard work on this! :)
Buggy as hell since 2 factor two factor authentication

A couple months ago facebook forced me to set up a pin for two factor authentication on desktop, since then messages missing, chats stucking in sending phase, it’s a horror and makes the platform useless, so I used only from Iphone.. until now, because today auto update happened and this curse followed into messenger app too, all the bug now on both platforms so I thinking leave messenger for good until this dev team fixes the issues. Please fix it, you making people days much harder through communication failures. It’s frustrating as hell.
Forced End-to-End Encryption Without User Choice – EU Consumer Rights Concern

As an EU user, I am formally raising concerns regarding Messenger’s forced implementation of end-to-end encryption without meaningful user choice.Long-standing conversations were archived and split without my explicit consent, preventing me from continuing communication in the original chat threads that contain years of personal history and context. This change was introduced without adequate prior notice and without a clear opt-out option. Under EU consumer and digital rights principles, including transparency, informed consent, and user autonomy (GDPR Articles 5 and 7), users must be clearly informed and given a genuine choice when significant changes affect how their personal data and digital services are used.While privacy and security are important, they must not be implemented in a way that removes functionality, disrupts continuity, or forces users into irreversible changes without consent.I am requesting:•a clear opt-out option for end-to-end encryption,•or the ability to continue conversations in the original chat thread,•or an official way to merge archived and encrypted conversations.Failing to provide user choice in such a fundamental change raises serious concerns regarding compliance with EU consumer protection and data protection standards.Please treat this as formal feedback from an EU user affected by this decision.

This app have more problems than ever. I’m not always sure when was someone available because this feature is not showing on phone after 1 hour. Not possible to change the profile picture, not possible to get rid of the ads and not possible to send a proper quality of photo because this app is just a waste of time in these days. Without a Facebook account I can’t even see the stories and nobody can see mine. But I don’t make one to use this app. It’s almost worthless. The everyday struggle with Messenger has no point. Telegram is much better.
