MÁV – a hivatalos vasúti belföldi utazástervező!
A MÁV-START alkalmazása hasznos segítséget nyújt utazása megtervezéséhez, amihez az alkalmazásból a jegyét is megvásárolhatja. A MÁV applikáció mindent tud a vonatokról: az utazás időpontja, az indulási és érkezési hely, valamint az igénybe vehető kedvezmények kiválasztását követően segít az optimális útvonal kiválasztásában. Emellett a menetrend alapján információt ad az esetleges átszállásokról és az állomásokról, megjeleníti a menetjegy árát, jelzi a pótjegyváltási kötelezettséget. A jegyeket egy gombnyomással a kosárba teheti, majd bankkártyával kifizetheti. A vásárlási beállítások, adatok elmenthetők, így a következő alkalommal még egyszerűbb lesz a vásárlás. A MÁV applikáció használatával a vonatok aktuális helyzetét is könnyedén nyomon követheti a valós idejű adatokat használó térképen. Továbbá teljesen egyedi funkcióként valós idejű csevegés folytatható a vonaton utazó utastársakkal.

The application of the MAV-START Co. is useful for planning train travel, and the tickets can also be purchased within the application. MÁV app knows everything about the trains: after setting the date of travel, departure and destination station and available discounts it helps you choosing the best journey. It also provides information about the stations, changing trains; displays price of the set journey; indicates trains with obligatory surcharge. Tickets can be placed in the basket with one tap, and can be paid with credit card. Purchase settings and data can be saved that makes future purchases even smoother. MÁV app enables tracing the trains real-time on the map easily. Unique function of the app is the real-time chat with fellow passengers on the same train.

Slightly utilitarian: does the job, and has done it excellent up to recent times…
Sadly the update to include the options to buy whatever nonsense local session tickets introduced some flash screen, check for internet connection - seemingly robbed the app of the possibility of starting offline… it gets stuck there sometimes not throwing error, neither proceeding…
Pity: would have been nice to be able to use it offline with downloaded tickets…
MÁV - after all - has lines, whereas no mobile net is available…
If you start the app with downloaded tickets at station and push it background- it still will work …

Late trains refund difficulties
I can buy a ticket indeed. I can not understand though why can’t I get no information 15 minutes before the offical departure that the train is 25+ minutes late. Sad that there are no up to date info.
I know it happenes sometimes.. still no explonation why can I not read it on the App but never mind, there is another train in 20 minutes.
BUT! Very intresringly when I purchase online (through the app) I can not exhange the seat reservation to even though nobody bothered to provide me the information which were relevant when buying the ticket.
I feel like I am cheated. Please resolve this issue because it saddest thing in 2023 that online exchanging an online seat reservation is more difficult than in person.

Hard to find tram train tickets
Im unable to buy my ticket for Tram train when the machines doesn’t work :( i can’t seem to find where to buy my ticket in the app, it doesn’t show my stop inside of hmvhely . And the website is laggy and i can’t buy tickets there either ( wifi problems). The conductor also said he never used this app in his life so he has no idea where i could buy my ticktet, tho, they’re pretty helpful and calm in these situations, thanks for that atleast. I’d be happy if someone could help me with using this app, i used it before but never for Tram train.

Dear Eszter! Thank you for your feedback! You can buy tram train tickets in the Domestic ticket section, if you choose a route from and to a tram train station. Purchase is also possible in the Regional and urban ticktes section (Ticket type-> TramTrain transport). Best regards, MÁV-START Zrt.
