It teaches guidelines that can be found at http://eccguidelines.heart.org. The app on its own does not certify users to perform CPR or use an AED; it intends to prepare them for a certification exam.

Following a Learn, Practice, Play lesson framework, the CPR + AED Basics app teaches and reinforces CPR skills through hands-on practice and interactive gameplay.
