Rapid Cabs Waterford 4+

Rapid Cabs are so reliable, highly recommend them. App is really easy to use and tracking where the cab is, is very handy. Trip with Pat today was a pleasure, we need more cab drivers like him!

Waterford is my home town and I’ve always used rapid cabs so I don’t write this review lightly. Positives: App is easy to use but there is a fundamental disconnect between the app and Rapid Cab’s drivers. Negatives: The booking system is next to pointless. Making a booking days (or even weeks) in advance does not mean a driver will be available for the job, which is ‘offered’ only on the morning you wish to travel. The system is extremely unreliable. It ‘confirms’ your booking when you make it but it’s a total lottery as to whether a driver will actually show up. If your timing for where you need to be is very flexible then it should be ok but if you need to use the service for time-sensitive appointments (work or catching a train) then use another company. To be fair, the drivers seem as irritated by how this service works as the customers. The operators on the phone are extremely rude and unhelpful. You’ll be told that your job depends on whether a driver is available or not; that it’s not their problem; don’t care if train/appointment is missed. They have no answer when asked why the app gives you a ‘confirmation’ and booking number for a reservation, given that nothing is reserved. In short, I don’t bother with Rapid Cabs anymore, which is a real shame. Pity to see a good company become so unreliable.

Had a taxi booked hours in advance and no sign of the taxi, rang them up and was told there was a 40 minute wait, why book a cab for a time and tell us a 40 min wait, as I said a terrible service, another day I rang abd they pretended they couldn’t hear me, rang 3 or 4 times, a ridicolous ploy when busy, had made phone calls before and after to other people, no issues, as I said a ridicolous ploy when busy, too many incidents now with these characters, they don’t even deserve one star
