Excellent app, fantastic articles, audio is a fantastic feature

First of all - I was reluctant to get this app at first because some were saying that when you cancel the economist won’t allow you to. But I chanced it because these guys are not as leftie as most of the MSM and I was hungry for real news . When I subscribed through iTunes or apple sub ( whatever it’s called now) at the very very end I did not create an account with the economist because I reckon that’s the trap - where they phone up people that cancel and give them a hard time.

I reckon I’m safe with trustworthy people like apple who will let me cancel whenever I want. But I plan to keep it going. I’m sure I will cancel and subscribe a few times over the years.

The economist is a great magazine- I love it. There is so much information and I think the audio feature helps when you are on the move and can’t read. I would highly recommend subscribing- use apple and at the end do not create an account with the boys or you’ll be caught and you’ll be sorry.

Great magazine - so much to read.

Buggy app

The biggest issue for me is that when on 4G and playing audio, the app reports ‘Something went wrong’ and doesn’t play. Sometimes it works but usually not. It means that you can only reliably play audio when on WiFi. Also the navigation links on the top disappear and can be hard to make reappear. I’ve raised these concerns with the Economist but it remains an issue.

Big SW Bug - Great app and news, but how do I clear storage!

Great news and app is good. But it now consumes 14GB of my iPhone. I’ve removed all back issue audio but no luck. Do I have to delete and reinstall the app 😩

Found the bug in your software, if editions are not 100% downloaded then you cannot remove vi the three dots, it doesn’t show as anything is downloaded. So you have to tap into every issue and delete the audio manually. Just Weber through 50+ back issues and deleted, many at 99% downloaded. Can you please fix this bug and get better WA engineers.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for leaving us a review and I'm sorry to hear you have been experiencing slowness in the app. We’re currently working to resolve this and hope to have a fix released soon. Thanks - Melanie
