Mr

My daily paper at the touch of a button for the same price as the weekend-only physical edition.
I have been getting this online paper for several years now, and the vibrancy of the photos still takes my breath away.
That is before you consider the journalism which is, as always first class.

mostly great….

been waiting a long time for this and , in general, the wait was worth it. Love the way it downloads in Newsstand and is there when you turn the iPad on in the morning. The design is striking and looks great in a metro windows phone sort of way. A few caveats . Although the design is very beautiful and clean , there is something about it that at times works against long form reading and leads one more towards browsing and looking at the pictures and admiring the design itself. The type looks good but is maybe a bit too clean and faint . Lots of white margins look good but I think it might be more useful at times to be able to pinch and zoom and fill up the screen with text when reading a long article. I also hate to admit this, but the bolder (more newsprint?) typeface of the Times app makes for an easier reading experience. I'm sure the app will evolve in time and I will certainly become a paying subscriber when my free trial runs out.

Apponical ,

Awful format

I am truly baffled by the reviews and ratings this app has gotten. To me, it has been too clever for its own good and really not exploited that wonderful newspaper feel other apps have replicated.

While the Sunday Times app makes you feel like you're missing nothing and actually gaining, this makes you feel like you're reading the paper online, and missing out on the print experience. And to me, that defeats the purpose because I could easily read the paper online via the website.

During my trial I found i was constantly convinced sits online version didn't have all the sections, etc. that I was used to from the print version. Some. People use papers to just get news but others enjoy the ritual and experience, and this really is just for the news and the links they can attach onto it.
