Annoying interference from pop up
Cannot enjoy a read without this type of rubbish popping up looking for a review and only way of getting rid of the pop up was to submit this review.
Full Screen Adverts, Broken User Accounts, & Woefully Plagued
First, it’s not free. You will have to pay to use this app by watching full screen adverts, which will interrupt your use of the app from time to time. These adverts cannot be gotten rid of by tapping a ‘close’ or ‘x’ button. You will have to wait as a clock counts down to zero, and then the ad will disappear.
Secondly, you will need mobile phone number and a Facebook, or Twitter, account to use the comments. Even then this might not work. I don’t use either social network, so I had to create a Twitter account. I struggled to successfully post any comments on their website, until I downloaded this app. Then, when I downloaded the app, logged into my (new) Twitter account through the app, then tried to leave a comment, it then asked me for a telephone number to verify my account. After doing this once, my comment successfully posted. Now, every time I try to comment, it continues to ask me for my mobile number. When I put my mobile number in it just tells me that my number is already in use with a user account, and won’t post what I write.
Woefully plagued website/app which is milking its reader base without fixing its issues.
Has its flaws
I think the level of journalism and the instantaneous updates once there is updates on a news story is great! The only two gripes I have is the comment section seems to be littered with bots that leave very worrying comments that seem set to aggravate readers.
The other is I’ve seen more than a handful of articles with misspelled headlines, should be an easy fix before publishing the article lads!
