Using CAD software and apps for long time while searching for the right one for my needs I’ve been trying Shapr3D from time to time but couldn’t justify its price for me (amateur hobby designer). But in 2022 I subscribed, knowing I have a 14 days to experience all the features without commitments and most importantly verify I can work with it as my major CAD software. After a week I couldn’t live without it, throwing away all legacy softwares I used and designing natively on Shapr3D. Not to mention I didn’t cancel the subscription and registered for a year. I found I can (almost) do everything with it and in very costly time to produce my stuff. After a while I leveled up my skills dramatically without limitations while planning a design and test it. The time took me to adjust to it’s UI and workflow was fast, in comparison to other CAD software I no longer thinking how to do things and focusing on what I’m doing. Features are coming out constantly so I noticed the hard work invested in development and feel confident trusting this software house. For the amateur user it’s a bit pricey but I found myself using it every single day since I got it, leaning so much and even considering making profits from products I make. All this worth the investment and to write this long review ;)I do need to mention that Shapr3D personal contacted me during this time and asked for my experience and suggested support for any issue. It wasn’t just marketing ritual we all familiar but real concern for their product and user experience.

This app is the best and most powerful architectural design app for iPad. The features are amazing and constantly changing and improving. I pay for a membership and it feels worth every penny. I couldn’t recommend this any more highly

• New: Bring richer textures to your architectural and interior scenes with new options for brick, Medium-Density Fiberboard (MDF), oak strip and herringbone flooring, and Douglas fir end-grain.
• Improved: Dragging and dropping a decal onto your model now places a new copy instead of replacing the surface material, allowing you to select and adjust each decal directly on your model.
• Fixed: Construction planes and axes can now be created again on imported STL meshes. When using point-based construction tools, select anywhere on the mesh body to pick a point and define your references.

Display Modes
• New: X-Ray mode is now available in the Display Modes menu, allowing you to see internal geometry while keeping the overall shape of your design visible. Use the Opacity slider to adjust transparency so you can inspect internal parts without losing the context of the outer model.
Decals update in Visualization
• New: Now you can allow decals to flow across multiple connected surfaces using the “Face Chaining” option. When enabled, your graphics will wrap seamlessly over adjacent faces rather than being restricted to a single surface.
• Improved: Decals are now supported in PBR and USD exports, ensuring labels and logos are preserved when sharing models via Published Versions.
• Fixed: Decals are now accurately clipped by the Section View plane, preventing graphics from lingering in the modeling space when their surfaces are hidden.
Construction Tools
• Improved: Construction Plane and Construction Axis moved from the Add menu to a dedicated Construct menu for better visibility. The Adaptive User Interface now also suggests multiple construction options based on your selection, making construction tools easier to find.
• Improved: Aligning Construction Planes and Axes is now more precise, with notable points highlighted in purple during selection to provide more predictable snapping and alignment.

• New: Now you can add Decals in Visualization. Import .png or .jpeg images to place and position standalone graphics—like logos and labels—directly on your model’s surfaces.
• Improved: Selections are now always rendered on top of your geometry, including when previewing steps in your history. You can also directly select sketches displayed on top of models, making it easier to work with overlapping designs.
• Improved: Saved Views now capture more details when using Section View. In addition to the plane position, your views now capture the on/off states for 2D Section View and Section Only modes, making it easier to return to your exact sectioning setup.
