How to learn languages on Tandem:
1. Select the language(s) you want to learn in the app
2. Tell us about your language learning goals and your ideal Tandem partner
3. Search for native speakers of your target language in the community
4. Kick-off your language exchange experience by sending your first message
5. Share topics with the Tandem community so you can have meaningful conversations about what interests you
6. Keep up the conversation with your new Tandem “pen pal” and speak like a native in no time!
While many features are free, you can choose to subscribe to Tandem Pro to access all the features on the app. Your subscription will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current payment period. Your iTunes account will be automatically charged at the same price for renewal within the 24-hour period prior to the end of the current payment period unless you change your subscription preferences in your Account Settings.

- Location information: Required to use the Nearby feature to see members near you, the Travel feature to show members around the world and to add an approximate location to your profile.
- Microphone: Required for sending audio messages, making audio and video calls, and joining Language Parties.
- Camera: Required for taking photos to upload to your profile or post in a Language Club, take and send a photo in a chat, video calling, and scanning QR codes.
- Notifications: Used to send you notifications about acceptance into the community, new messages, new followers and their posts, new references and marketing communication.
- Nearby devices: Bluetooth access is required to connect audio devices during a call or Language Party.
You can still use Tandem without granting optional permissions, except features where their nature requires the respective permission, like a video call requiring camera permission.

From my experience learning a language is nice and all but once you start speaking to people it accelerates by 5x lolEven just talking a little when I didn’t know much made my brain start remembering words I heard so much moreAnybody who wants to learn a language should be talking to people who know that language, and this is a great way to do so

Its an amazing app but it need a little update I think it’s better if you try to make it better for example we can’t see who’s online in our friends list I hope you fix that and thank you again for this amazing app

The concept is nice but I feel overwhelmed by all the messages that I get. I can't answer all the people and It's make me sad tho. I really want to get to know people but I can't do it if I don't have kind of "filter" as message requests. I do want to learn new languages but I feel like in Tandem I can only talk with other people in the new language only if I know some basic words and that's not the situation😅
