Notes is the best place to jot down quick thoughts or to save longer notes filled with checklists, images, web links, scanned documents, handwritten notes or sketches. And with iCloud, it’s easy to keep all your devices in sync, so you’ll always have your notes with you.
Features
Powerful note-taking
• Add attachments — PDFs, photos, maps, web links and more.
• Record and transcribe audio directly into a note.
• Scan paper documents with the built-in document scanner.
• Secure sensitive or personal data in a locked note.
• Create checklists. Make a shopping list, a wish list or a to-do list, then tap to tick off items as you go.
• Apply different text styles, such as heading or body, bulleted lists, highlighting and more.
• Tap next to section headers to reveal a chevron to collapse text.
• Add tables to quickly organise information.
• Use your finger, or Apple Pencil on a compatible iPad, to sketch directly in your note or an inline PDF. Choose from a variety of brush styles and colours, and add lines and grids to a note for easier writing and drawing.
• Take a Quick Note without opening the app — add Quick Note to your Control Centre, swipe up from the bottom-right corner with an Apple Pencil on iPad, or use Fn-Q on a keyboard.
Organise and search
• Search for text in notes, your handwriting, and even inside scanned documents and photos like receipts or bills.
• Link from one note to another to connect ideas, content or any information. Try typing >> for a shortcut to add links while writing in your note.
• Keep your notes in folders and subfolders, or add tags to categorise them. Type or handwrite tags directly in your note — like #cooking or #expenses.
• Automatically organise notes in a Smart Folder based on filters. Create rules to filter for Date Created, Checklists, Attachments and more.
Collaborate
• Collaborate on entire shared folders or on specific shared notes.
• Mention friends to notify them of important updates and link them directly to a shared note.
• See what others added to a shared note while you were away with Activity view, a day-to-day list summary of activity from each collaborator.
Notes for Apple Watch
• View all of your iCloud notes right from your wrist; you can also pin notes, complete checklist items, or create new notes with dictation or Siri.

If someone asked me what my favorite app is it’ll definitely be notes. It’s so useful and easy to use. I write and save things in it almost everyday and I love the way it’s organized well and has many options. I have only good things to say about it :)
Nothing like samsung notes. No note color nor right to left languages handwriting recognition
hakoopa
Can not change color of text background like in samsung notes where you can dye note like a sticky yellow paper note for example. Only white backgound i.e. white page. I want to classify notes by page color for fast sorting. I write in hebrew handwriting and on samsung notes it recognizes it and I can search in hebrew and find handwritten notes. Plus I can choose whether I want my handwriting to be turned to keyboard fonts or to stay handwritten. Nothing of it has yet reached apple devices even though clients beg you to add this simple feature that has kept me from using apple notes and other apps for years.Very frustrating to feel second grade client.
Bug
Someonewhorryit
Keyboard obscures text when editing long notes. No workaround at all.Severity: High (Renders the app unusable for detailed note-taking).The Bug Description:"When editing any note (especially longer ones) in the Apple Notes app on iPhone, the software keyboard fails to properly resize the viewing area or scroll the text field.Consequently, the bottom lines of the note are completely hidden or obscured by the on-screen keyboard, making it impossible to read or accurately edit the last few paragraphs. If I manually scroll the text up, it immediately springs back down and is covered by the keyboard as soon as I attempt to type or lift my finger. This bug is extremely frustrating and renders the Notes app unreliable for serious work."Actually it is happening now when I’m writing the review and trying to access text at the end of the review. I think it’s happening with all text box
Apple Notes App Keeps Crashing – Extremely Frustrating
חיילכ
I am extremely frustrated with the Apple Notes app. It keeps crashing just seconds after I open it, and nothing I’ve tried has fixed the issue. I followed all the troubleshooting steps suggested by Apple support, ensured my iPad and the app are up-to-date, restarted the device, and even deleted and reinstalled the app. Despite all this, the problem persists. What’s even more upsetting is that all my work files are still stored in the app, and I can’t access them. This is unacceptable for an app that should be reliable, especially for users who rely on it for important tasks. Apple needs to address this issue urgently.
