ESPN Cricinfo is hands down the best cricket app out there! From live scores to in-depth analysis, it covers everything a cricket fan needs. The notifications are quick and informative, the match coverage is detailed, and the overall experience is just top-notch.A big shoutout to the team for constantly improving the app and listening to user feedback. The support staff is also very responsive and actually listens to suggestions, which makes the experience even better. I’ve been using Cricinfo for years, and it just keeps getting better! If you’re a cricket lover, this is a must-have app. Highly recommended
The most terrible app on an iPhone
AnantAggarwal1981
One of the worst and the most intolerable apps from a global group that I have ever seen on an iPhone for the last 4-5 years I have used an iPhone for, the app is painstakingly slow, has an extremely haphazard design with all the modules muddled up and mixed up as if they have no start, no end, nowhere to go, the app intermittently stutters through scrolling and at times gets completely stuck for a couple of seconds on fairly fast connections, no clue if 22 mbps full throughput is slow, the app has absolutely no collection of players and no tab where we can find individual players, the only way to do so is to go to a currently played match and then tap a clickable cricketer, it shows the same ads through the whole page again and again in an infinite loop whether you scroll up or you scroll down, the app shows no easy way to go to the bottom of commentary once the match has ended and you need to keep scrolling till you reach the bottom to look for the starting overs, it has absolutely no uniformity throughout the app with the use of hundreds of font sizes and font types, at places the app utilises bold fonts in body text while using lighter thin text through headings and at others, the body font has a larger size than the heading font. ESPNCricinfo app on an iPhone is as hotch potch and as ugly as an app can get and sadly Apple does not allow zero stars or negative stars, don't know about other users and consumers but at my end, it thoroughly deserves a hugely negative rating!!
Much better than Cricbuzz overall
PropertyTemple
Using this app since advent and safe to say it’s best in the business. Limited adds, no compulsory ads, on top of that amazing information on scores with detailed information such as you tap a player, shows pictures of the match, wickets video, and more. Also information provided of careers and other videos are unmatched. Would like to add , not using Cricbuzz anymore, they are trying to sell their paid version so aggressively by making us view ads for 15 seconds and more just to check scores. That’s preposterous.
The app feels like an age old browser
sudeepmohanty
At the outset, I would like to clarify that ESPNCricinfo is the mecca for all things cricket. I absolutely love the content and am an ardent follower of cricket matches on this platform. This review, however, is for the poor app design which feels like an mobile web browser which aged badly. The app is not at all intuitive for phone users. The touch targets are too small. The page refreshing is not smooth. There are no gestures incorporated. The overall user experience is very poor and crappy. For a cricket tragic like me, this poorly developed app is not a barrier to consume the information that I need but this app will not attract new audiences of the game because of how dated it is. This is a sincere plea to the developers and decision makers at Cricinfo to make the app modern.
