Files 4+

Right before an update, many of my files got deleted without any trace. Those files were important books which I was reading for a while now and had made annotations on it. I contacted apple support for this as well but even they couldn’t help get the files back. This isn’t something that you would expect from apple. Totally devastated. All of my hard work gone in a flash. Another problem is with respect to editing pdfs in the files app itself. It resets a lot of times and then all the annotations are gone and you have to re-do all the editing.

I use this to do worksheets online for school and randomly in the middle of me writing it resets or glitches (not sure) and erases everything I wrote after the last time I clicked ‘done’. It’s super annoying and happens a LOT. Please fix this

The page bar is actually useful for me when reading very long files because I can see what page it is and go straight there without too much scrolling.

And there’s several other tiny bugs within the app that aren’t as annoying as the markup one but still are annoying. For example if I am editing a text box I added in the file and I go to a different app and then come back, I will press edit again and the keyboard won’t show up. I have to close the app and find the file again for it to work properly. And sometimes with the ‘controls bar’ thing at the top (not sure what it’s called, where you can see the pencils and other tools for markup) will sometimes glitch and the contents of i will move depending on what tool you select. So if I use the normal default pen then I can’t see the colors because they’re weirdly cut off for some reason. And suddenly there is a lot of space before undo and redo buttons.

These are just minor bugs I can fix by closing and reopening the app but they’re still kind of annoying, please fix this

I am recently facing issues regarding the files app after my iPad god updated to the 17th version. All of my annotations on the files app has disappeared after the update. It is really causing so much trouble to me since I have studied so hard and now can't get my hardwork back. Please look into this issue it's really so frustrating. I purchased an iPad just because it was used friendly and now it seems to delete my data. One more issue I am facing in the files app is that the pdf isn't opening from the page I left. It feels so frustrating to again and again go to the same page. After the update my experience with apple has deteriorated. I am looking forward to you to fix my problem ASAP since I am a med student and really want all my notes back with annotations. Please rectify the app it's my humble request to you.
