PDF, TXT, MS Office, iWork, HTML, pictures, music & audio-books, videos. This is what you can view in GoodReader, plus you can also annotate PDF files and edit TXT files.

PDF files is where GoodReader truly shines. Reading experience is so superior, it's hard to describe. To rephrase one of our customers' review, "try it, and you'll see." While you're at it, give our PDF Reflow feature a try. You'll be surprised how much better PDF reading goes when you don't have to scroll left/right all the time, for every single line of text.
Annotating PDFs is another star feature of our app. Adding notes and drawings, highlighting text, and then sharing your annotated files or annotation summaries will be your main productivity and collaboration asset.

I have already purchased the good reader almost 8 -10 years back. I have been using it regularly on my iPhone and also through family sharing,on my son’s iPad. My son’s iPad got damaged and his exams are approaching, all his books and pdf notes were in Good reader. We urgently bought the new latest iPad. However due to a problem with apple’s payment method where they have not fixed a problem with net banking and credit card… I am unable to restore my purchases. I am so desperate that I tried buying the app again on the iPad, but it won’t accept it, saying it’s already purchased by a family member …!We are literally stuck now…They are not fixing the issue and literally the reason to buy the iPad was my son’s studies, his exams are approaching and it’s not working …Please fix the issue ASAP ….! Or just let us purchase it again .. or do something !We have used the app so well for almost a decade that I don’t mind purchasing it again….! But please do something as soon as possible !

While it does the pdf reading part well, it serves as a very good file manager for me. Anything that I feel to keep organised in a single space, whether that be an important pic (of a receipt for e.g.) or books, reports, etc I keep in GoodReader, with all of its file manager’s usual features.Share option has a much needed “copy to GoodReader” to send any file from any app into goodreader’s space.To make the loop complete, it has a fantastic wifiserver feature, that creates a WebDAV that I keep a shortcut on my computer’s desktop to get file in and out like a breeze.I would hope the ui can be improved a bit. Especially the bottom tab bar feels congested/crowded. May be some options in settings that allows me what tabs I need so that I don’t need to scroll to access the great network features.Over all, fantastic! A very no-bs app. Those are hard to come by these days.
Version 5+ is unstable and keeps crashing

I have been using good-reader for almost 8 years. Its a very good app. Version 3 and version 4 were very stable and capable of handling big and heavy files. However the latest version i.e. 5, is unable to handle the same files. The user interface in the new version may be better but is certainly taking its toll on devices making it too slow to use. I would give 5 stars to the overall app, but i would rate the version good-reader 5+ only about 2 or 3.

Have been a GoodReader user for few years now. The older version was stagnant but had more features in one app than most. The new edition has so many new features which makes it all the more attractive but the interface changed so drastically and it some how rings painfully true when the description says “New Everything”. The interface is so different that I wonder if I am using the same app. The cross button to switch from reading mode to folders mode is so irritating for example. If you are a previous user I bet you had to read the manual to figure out quite a few features you already used before.
