The app, which is otherwise quite user friendly and has a decent enough support, is consistently plagued by an exorbitant battery drain whenever I connect through it. I’ve used norton 360 (which I use when in trusted wifi area) which has its own vpn (that determines spurious sites/malware etc), but that hardly uses any battery whatsoever. However using surfshark, I need to know there’s a charger around for later…Secondly, there is an issue of speed throttling randomly occurring. No data transmission till vpn is manually disconnected. This happens quite often, so can’t leave the connection on 24/7 and have to manually use it to secure data transfer when in public wifi area. Please cure these two issues asap.

I recently subscribed to Surfshark VPN with high hopes of enhancing my online privacy and bypassing geo-restrictions effortlessly. Unfortunately, my experience with this service has been nothing short of a nightmare. It is clear that Surfshark fails to live up to its advertised claims, leaving me deeply dissatisfied.First and foremost, the most glaring issue is the service's overall performance. Surfshark claims to provide lightning-fast connection speeds, but in reality, it delivers nothing but frustratingly slow and unreliable connections. Even when connecting to servers in close proximity, I experienced significant lag and frequent disconnections, making my online activities a constant struggle. Streaming high-definition content or engaging in online gaming became an exercise in patience due to the constant buffering and latency issues.Furthermore, Surfshark's server network is severely limited and inconsistent. Many times, I found myself unable to connect to servers in popular locations like india, leaving me with no choice but to settle for subpar alternatives. This severely hindered my ability to access region-restricted content and rendered the service useless for my intended purposes.

I mostly use it because of certain specific country which otherwise not available by other vpn providers. So star for it. Speed and connectivity is good. So another 2 stars. Ease of usage gives it another star. However, the ad block algorithm is very poor. Eg: It cannot stop ads while playing games on phones unlike its competitor, wherein the competitor is really really good in this. Something though promoted by Surfshark but not effective. Hope to see some improvement in this area. If you can tolerate annoying ads, go for it.

Surfshark claims to be able to bypass censorship and restrictions in geo-restricted areas, however this seems be nothing short of false advertising. Surfshark has stopped working in Mainland China, the chances of a successful connection are incredibly low. I have tried using both the manual and automatic connection with various protocols like wire guard,TCP,UDP,IPv6 but not of them are working anymore. Their customer service specialises in making false promises, claiming that they intend to restore services within the “next 24 hours, next week, next month “ so on and so forth. However its been 2 months and yet there has been no change in the situation. When asked for a refund, they flat out refused, stating that the 30 day refund time period has elapsed. So i guess I’m now stuck with a vpn that doesn’t work. Therefore a word of advice, please don’t waste your money on Surfshak VPN, especially if you intend to use it in a geo-restricted area.
