Diarium helps you keep a private diary and daily journal for memories, photos, mood, travel, gratitude, and everyday notes without ads or subscriptions.
Capture what happened today, add the details that matter, and build a personal timeline you can return to for years. Write quick reflections or longer entries, attach rich media, and keep your journal protected with password, PIN, Face ID, or Touch ID.
What you can do with Diarium:
• Write a personal diary, daily journal, gratitude journal, bullet journal, photo diary, or travel journal
• Add photos, drawings, audio recordings, files, tags, people, ratings, and locations
• Track mood with star ratings and tracker tags
• Revisit memories in calendar, timeline, and travel map views
• Use lists and text formatting for notes, reflections, and routines
• Set daily reminders to make journaling a habit
• Add day context from your camera roll, calendar, weather, tasks, workouts, social activity, and entertainment activity
• Import from Apple Journal and supported diary apps such as Day One, Diaro, Journey, Daylio, Diarly, Daybook, and Evernote
• Back up your diary database and export entries as Word, HTML, JSON, or plain text
Your journal can continue with you across supported phone, tablet, laptop, and desktop versions. Optional sync uses your own cloud storage, including iCloud, OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, or WebDAV, so no separate Diarium account is required.
Diarium is designed for long-term journaling: daily thoughts, family memories, trips, photos, gratitude, feelings, and the small moments that make up your life. It stays personal, flexible, and secure, whether you write every day or whenever something is worth remembering.
Diarium is free to use with optional Diarium Pro for advanced features such as sync, unlimited attachments per entry, Word export for printing, connected feeds, custom fonts, widgets, and weather in entries. Pro features can be tested for 7 days after installing.
Diarium Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. The purchase is linked to your Apple ID and unlocks Pro for iOS/iPadOS; a separate Pro purchase may be required on other platforms.
I’ve been using this app from 2022, after using a similar app that had a scrollable calendar interface which could take notes, but had less than a tenth of Diarium’s features. Last year I went ahead and bought the paid version (finally an app that gives Perpetual License!) for both the iPhone and MacOS. The sync feature is amazing, the way you can find notes by date, location, attachments, have a host of formatting options, has great security features, and is able to sync to a variety of other apps is just amazing. The author of this app has done an amazing job thinking this up and designing something so intuitive without all the UX-UI fluff which looks aesthetic but is a pain to navigate. Thank you!
Probably the best one with a good balance of features

I migrated to Diarium from another service. The other services are either limited in storage, or tied up to some specified cloud service like Dropbox which charges a fortune for higher storage or are themselves outrageously expensive. This is what pulled me into Diarium. Its a simple app, only one time payment needed, you can use your desired cloud storage solution, and the sync across devices are also really good. The interface is decent, but may not be flashy like some competition. But, it still gets the job done. Overall, very satisfied with this app. The only complaint that I have is that it does not have a Linux or web version. This is something that is really needed. Othewise, it ticks all the other boxes.
An excellent journaling app

Diarium is an excellent journaling app. Almost everything you expect in a paid app you get for a small one-time payment. It's a pleasure to use it. Actively developed and supported by a developer, who works solo. Read the FAQ and the community forum to understand how the developer keeps the pricing so low and affordable for his users by not doing unnecessary things for the sake of brownie points. Keep up the good work developer.
No proper search within an entry

You offer so many features, but totally ignored the simple most important feature that we actually need! Search within a journal entry. For example, when I search for a word, it shows up instantly. But the real problem is when I click the entry, it does not take me directly to that word. I am forced to scroll all the way down the entry to find that word. This is especially inconvenient and a hassle if my journal entry is even slightly long. First ask ur team to use the journal themselves to understand practical usage. Features and design isn't everything.
Developer Response
Sorry you aren't happy with the app and it's not suitable for you. I am collecting and priorizing feature requests in the community forums. When you use the search tab and search for a term there, those search terms will be highlighted also when you open the entry to view it completely. You say "my team" but there is no team. I am a solo developer that builds this app for four platforms. I am constantly working on improving the app. It's just not possible to do all at once. It saddens me that I couldn't live up to your expectations, but working even more would be dangerous for my health
• Fixed migration/import issues, including Apple Journal and Day One imports
• Fixed adding some screen recordings and vertical videos
• Fixed a few crashes and UI issues
