I absolutely adore this app. It's function over form and I love that about it. No crazy animations. Cute characters. Straightforward interface. I love that you can revise things from the books you're learning from like Genki.For me, notifications don't work properly, though. I never recieved renshuu notification to complete a schedule. I've checked my settings on both iphone and app. Everthing seems to be in order. Also two major suggestions would be a widget to remind if something is pending and an SRS flash card system like anki built in. If all this is there, id happily pay for pro.

I'm sorry about the notifications issue. It's a known bug that unfortunately relies on a 3rd party piece of software. They have been unable to resolve the issue, so I need to migrate to a new system (which is a fairly large change, but I do intend to do it).I do hope to add widgets in the future :)As to the SRS, all of renshuu is SRS! That's what the mastery schedules are on your dashboard. They "schedule" the terms for periodic review based on how you're doing with them :) If you need anything if you're still learning on renshuu, do let me know. I have been using this app since covid started. I felt it was pretty buggy at first but then the app just kept on getting better and better over the years. One thing I love about this app is the sense of community it provides, the question corners, the word games and everything makes me feel a part of a big family of Japanese learners. To think a small team is running all of this behind the scenes is just absolutely impressive. A big thanks to Michael, his wife and the entire team of Renshuu. Keep up the good work. There’s a certain charm to Renshuu that’s hard to find these days. It’s a trait that’s uniquely common to efforts of love and labor, often by small, dedicated teams, and it shows beautifully on this app. The app is so comprehensive in learning materials that you’ll be very busy for a long time as you continue this journey of learning Japanese. And the community is warm and embracing. I’ve learned so much from this app, I passed my L4 JLPT test on the first try. A classic combination of tools and love.

The concept is amazing. The SRS is so well integrated with the games that I’ve slay forgotten about Anki. I just wish the app was lighter on the pocket. That’s equivalent to my monthly expenditure on necessities.

Apple has restrictions on the way prices are set up, but I am sure there is a way to create a more reasonable pricing structure. Fixes the page going to the previous page when opening the menu.
Unfortunately, the tap-through issue (when tapping an item in the menu) is still present, and I am waiting for a fix from a library that renshuu uses. This only affects iOS 26.x users.
