I sought an application that is accessible on both desktop and mobile platforms, prioritizing privacy over the practices of data aggregator applications. Through extensive research on various Reddit discussions and online searches, I discovered the Budget Flow app. After thoroughly reviewing its data handling practices, I decided to try it. The application is user-friendly and offers multiple options for accurate data entry. Users can plan their budgets and monitor their financial progress effectively. However, there are several shortcomings:1) An option to add subcategories would be beneficial; for instance, if the main category is 'Car,' the ability to include subcategories such as 'Fuel,' 'Maintenance,' and 'Car Washing Charges' would enhance functionality.2) The app lacks the capability to add bulk transactions, which significantly restricts its usability. A feature similar to Ledger-cli would be a considerable improvement.3) Users cannot import bank statements or credit card bills directly and edit them simultaneously for accurate tagging. Ideally, support for PDF file formats should also be included.4) While it serves as an expense tracker, incorporating the ability to monitor assets such as stocks and mutual funds would be a valuable enhancement. Addressing these issues would greatly improve the application. Best wishes to the developer.
