It is an amazing app for the following reasons. My five year old grandson was struggling to read sentences and also had difficulty in spelling the words. He knew the sounds of the alphabets but merging the sounds is where he was having problem though his spoken vocabulary is great. Homer designed the lessons based on his interests and they were quite interactive. And the lessons stressed all aspects of learning to read- the vowel sounds, recognising the sounds of the letters, identifying the letters or group of letters for a given sound and so on. Within a week of using Homer, he learnt to read and spell 40- 50 words. Now he can read stories!The only drawback he wasn’t getting longer words.
