This update remembers exactly where you were reading, and lets you flip through pages sideways. Files sent over from other apps now keep their own names, too. Pages you copy can be pasted straight into other apps. Changes - Horizontal page turn: move through a document one page at a time instead of scrolling up and down. Switch it on from the ⋯ menu, then swipe sideways or use the arrow keys. It works alongside Two-page view. - Documents reopen right where you left them — same page, same spot on that page, same zoom. Zooming in on the right edge and leaving no longer drops you back in the middle. - Copy a page and paste it straight into another app. Copy from the sidebar or Page Manager and it arrives as a PDF in Notes, Pages and elsewhere — no need to export first. - Handwriting and drawings you pick with a tap can now be pasted into other apps as an image. - Line straightening can now be assigned to the Apple Pencil double-tap and squeeze, and to a double tap with your finger. - Pasting a page into another note keeps hidden layers hidden. If that isn't possible, the app lets you know. - PDFs and photos sent to UnivNote from other apps keep their original file names. You can also choose which folder they go into, and they land in No folder if you don't. Importing a file with a "/" in its name no longer turns it into a ":" in the title. - Fixed notes going missing when iCloud sync was switched on or off. Turning sync on no longer freezes the Settings screen, even with a lot of notes. - Undo is more dependable. Deleting or clearing a page you never opened, and erasing across several pages, now come back in a single step. - Fixed drawings and handwriting that reach onto the facing page being cut off in exported PDFs in Two-page view. The overlap order you see on screen carries over too. - Fixed portrait photos looking squashed and blurry, and small drawings or shapes growing instead of shrinking when you dragged a corner inward. - Tidier lasso popup: it now goes away when you switch tools (including a double-tap on Apple Pencil), and the menu reads Copy, Duplicate, Cut. Also fixed not being able to write after going back to the pen from the lasso. - Fixed the fountain pen thickening the line the moment you lift it while line straightening is on, and erased marks setting permanently when you changed eraser type mid-erase. - When the eraser or lasso is blocked by a locked layer, or a shape or photo won't select when you tap it, the app tells you why — and you can open the layer panel right from the notice. - Fixed the Pixel Eraser cutting into strokes on locked layers. Locked content can no longer be erased by any eraser. - New notes and renames show up in device search right away. Fixed search inside a note pointing at the wrong page. - Undo and Redo now dim briefly while you are erasing, instead of looking active but doing nothing. - Product names inside the app now appear in the same language as the purchase sheet.

This update brings UnivNote to 27 languages. It also adds the tools you need when a new term starts. Changes - 27 languages: added Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Malay, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Romanian, Greek, Russian, Ukrainian, and Turkish to the existing seven. This update adds Review Notes. Problems you capture with the lasso are collected automatically, and tapping a clip takes you back to where it came from. Changes - Review Notes: select an area with the lasso and tap "Review Notes" to collect a snapshot of it in your Review Notes document. The document is created in your library automatically if you don't have one yet, and tapping a collected clip jumps straight to that spot in the original document. - Arrange shapes: selected shapes can now be sent to the front or back. - Fixed photos appearing with inverted colors in night mode. Photos now keep their original colors.

This update adds image layers. You can split your photos across two layers and hide or lock each layer. Changes - Image layers: split photos across two layers. The layer button in the top bar lets you show or hide, lock and rename each layer, and you can move photos selected with the lasso to another layer. New photos go into the layer you have selected, and hidden layers are also left out of PDF export and image saving. - Fixed photos not actually swapping places on screen when you selected them with the lasso and sent them to the front or back. Browse Pages thumbnails now update along with them. - Fixed shapes coming back on top instead of in their original place when you undo deleting them.

This update reworks pasting. The notification and the confirmation prompt that appeared at the top of the screen when pasting from another app are gone, and you can now paste text and links as well as photos. You can also export just the original PDF, without your handwriting. Changes - The "Pasted from …" notification and the paste confirmation prompt no longer appear when you paste content copied from another app. The same goes for tapping an empty spot without pasting. - Tap an empty spot with the lasso to paste text and links too. Pasting creates a text box there and switches to the text tool. - Export or copy just the original PDF, without handwriting, photos, text boxes or shapes. "Original PDF Only" has been added to the page menus in Browse Pages, and "Export Original PDF Only" to the More menu. - Added "Current ↔ previous color" to the finger double-tap and Apple Pencil actions, so you can switch between two colors without opening the color palette. - Fixed photos copied from the web being pasted as a link instead of the photo. - Menus that stayed on screen after a text box was undone, or after paging far away, now disappear with it. - Fixed strokes slipping through a thin eraser when erasing with quick strokes. - Fixed the right side of popups and button bars being cut off while Browse Pages was open. - Improved a case where the app could stop responding after sharing pages.

This update widens the Classic fountain pen's pressure response and makes several actions noticeably faster, the eraser and recording playback among them. It also fixes a number of cases where content was left out of iCloud sync, backups, and exports. Changes - The Classic fountain pen's stroke width now varies more with pressure. Draw lightly for much thinner lines, and at the same pressure strokes are slightly thinner than before. The width at maximum pressure is unchanged. - The eraser is much faster. Rubbing with a thin eraser on a heavily written page no longer stutters. - Fixed strokes you had already passed over not being erased when rubbing slowly. - Study Masks now respond immediately when tapped. - Fixed the brief freeze when jumping backward during recording playback. The longer the recording, the bigger the difference. - Fixed handwriting not being reproduced when the app quit unexpectedly during a recording. Your writing is now recovered along with the audio. - Previews are now saved for notes you have written on, so reopening a folder with many notes no longer keeps you waiting. - The library scrolls smoothly while search content is being prepared. - Fixed the brief freeze right after a backup restore starts. - Reduced the brief freeze when adjusting margins. - Fixed hidden layers reappearing when a note was exported or duplicated. - Fixed inserted shapes going missing when undoing a page deletion, exporting a note, or restoring a backup. - Fixed folders disappearing during iCloud sync, and a table of contents organized on another device not being applied. - Fixed recordings stored only in iCloud disappearing from the list when recording sync was turned off. They are now copied to this device first. - Fixed some notes not appearing in text search results. - Fixed the storage figure in Settings reading lower than actual usage. - Erasing all data now shows how many notes and folders will be deleted and requires you to type the confirmation phrase. Erasing is unavailable while a note is open. Saved WebDAV server credentials, which used to be left behind, are now erased as well.

This update widens the fountain pen's pressure response and adds tool switching to the finger gesture shortcuts. Changes - The fountain pen's stroke width now varies more with pressure. Press harder for thicker lines and draw lightly for thinner ones, and normal writing is now slightly thinner than before. - Finger double-tap gestures can be assigned more actions. You can now map switching to the pen, highlighter, eraser, or laser pointer, lasso, rectangle, or text selection, text boxes, the color picker, and the next favorite pen to the two- through five-finger double tap. These are the same actions as the Apple Pencil double tap.

Use the layer button in the top bar to show, hide, or lock each layer and rename it, and move lasso-selected ink to another layer. Hidden layers are also excluded from PDF export and image saving. - Search index sync: a search index built on one device now travels to your other devices via iCloud. On a new device or after reinstalling, search works right away without re-indexing every document. - When highlighters, memorization masks, shapes, and text boxes overlap, PDF export and image saving now follow exactly the order you see on screen. Also fixed area capture rendering highlighter colors darker than they appear. - Fixed tapping stacked memorization masks also revealing the mask underneath. - On iPhone, you can now tap shapes and photos with a finger to select them and tap an empty spot to deselect. Also fixed top bar buttons getting cut off on narrow screens. - The More menu remembers its last scroll position, and the 90° magnetic snap for shape rotation is more precise. - Improved frame performance for scrolling, zooming, and pinch/rotate preview of selections.

This update introduces shape insertion. Changes - Insert shapes: add over 30 kinds to a page, from lines, arrows, polygons, and stars to 3D solids like cylinders, cones, and spheres. Hidden edges of 3D solids are drawn as dashed lines. - Shapes stay editable after insertion: adjust size and rotation, and fine-tune details with handles — an ellipse's flatness, a cylindrical shell's thickness, or a triangular prism's cross-section. - Select shapes with the lasso to move, copy, paste, cut, or duplicate them, and change their color and line width just like ink. - Shapes appear everywhere: page thumbnails, PDF export, image saving, and sync across devices. - Recording playback now reproduces shape edits, and 2.5x and 3x playback speeds have been added.

This update overhauls iCloud storage and data protection, and makes handwriting faster. Changes - Your notes stay on your device when you turn iCloud sync off. When turning it off, you can choose to copy your notes to this device first, or leave them in iCloud. - Fixed an issue where cleaning up storage could delete notes. Notes created while sync was off, and notes whose file was named differently, could disappear during the cleanup. - Fixed an issue where a permanently deleted note could reappear after turning sync off and on again. - Fixed an issue where a note's PDF and handwriting could be combined from different devices during sync, leaving ink on the wrong pages. If the same note was edited on two devices, the most recent version is kept and the other is saved as a conflict copy. - The iCloud sync setting can no longer be changed while a note is open, which prevents edits from being lost while the storage location changes. - Fixed an issue where search results jumped to the wrong page after another device reordered the pages. - Duplicating a document no longer rebuilds its search index. - Reduced the stutter when closing a note and returning to the library. - The eraser, paste, undo, and lasso selection are faster, especially on pages with a lot of ink.
