Stability This release fixes a crash that could interrupt playback — most often when changing Base Sa while the tabla was running, or when moving between taals. It was the largest single source of interruptions in recent versions, and it is now closed on every device. Four new raag presets Four more of Ashwin's own settings join the factory list: • Bhairavi • Purya • Purya Dhanashri • Bhairav That brings the factory presets to 23. Each one carries its tanpura strings, its shruti tuning, the Shruti Box voicing and its swarmandal sequences, ready to play. Palta Practice — a tempo routine built into the Tabla tab. Set a destination and let the tabla take you there. Step jumps by a few BPM every so many cycles. Ramp glides the whole way instead. Pyramid climbs to the top and comes back down, over and over. "Until" is the destination, and it sets the direction: above your current tempo to speed up, below it to slow down. Hold − or + to cover ground quickly. When it arrives it either keeps playing there, or stops after a few more cycles and powers the tabla down. It works with the Metronome as well, and it steps aside in Sangat and picks up where it left off. THE TABLA TAB, REARRANGED Metronome Settings now has a place of its own beside Count-in, rather than hiding inside the panel — and it stops glowing once you have set it. The Riyaz Timer sits below the clock, which has not moved. On every control with a label and a switch, the label opens the settings and the switch only switches. Neither does the other's job any more. THE PRESETS LIST Search, Factory/User and the sort row now stay on screen while the list scrolls. The list fades at the bottom so you can see there is more below, and the last preset comes to rest in the middle of the screen instead of the very bottom. SOUND The sam is stronger. Beat one of every theka and every variation, across all 26 taals and both drums. The chati and baya now sit in the same balance on both platforms. Moving the tempo across a band boundary no longer dips the drums, and changing Base Sa no longer interrupts the baya — only the chati steps aside for its own change. BATTERY The audio engine goes properly quiet now. Stages with nothing to play stop running, and the audio stream itself stands down after a minute of silence, then wakes the moment you touch the screen. FIXES The tabla no longer starts and then restarts a few seconds later when you power it on straight after opening the app. The swarmandal no longer plays Sa over and over on its first pass — it plays your sequence, from the very first press. Larger text sizes no longer break the mixer labels. A phone call now stops everything and puts it all back exactly as it was when the call ends. The lock-screen transport is gone. Sangatkaar keeps playing with the screen off, without leaving a player card behind. The guided tour now runs to 71 steps and covers Palta Practice.

Version 2.5 is the tuning release. MICRO TUNING Every note can now be tuned to your own ear, not to a table. Turn on Micro Tuning on the Swarmandal tab and long-press any sequencer cell to adjust that note by up to fifty cents, to a tenth of a cent. The tuning is held per note, so retuning one Ga retunes every Ga at once — in the sequencer, in both tanpuras and in the Shruti Box. Sa and Pa stay locked, because everything else is tuned against them. Each rail carries the two shruti positions of that note as snap marks, so the classical intervals are a touch away without being imposed. Retuned cells show what they are carrying. THE SHRUTI BOX A fifth instrument, from real recorded reeds. Four voices — Sa, two of your choosing, and a coupler an octave below — each with its own level and pan, and its own channel in the mixer beside the two tanpuras. It follows Base Sa and your Micro Tuning, so it can never disagree with the drone. A REAL METRONOME Metronome now sits at the top of the taal list, above every sort and filter. Choosing it turns the tabla into a metronome with its own time signature — any number of beats from one to twenty-three — and its own level, while your taal waits where you left it. A GUIDED TOUR A sixty-nine step walk through the whole app, one card at a time, that sets each screen up as it goes. Start or end it whenever you like from About. HAPTICS Faders and knobs now click through their values, with a firmer landmark at each control's default and a tick when a rail catches a shruti. PRESETS, REBUILT Nineteen factory raags, and presets are now a musical starting point rather than a snapshot of a room. A preset carries both tanpuras' strings, the single or dual octave setting, the Shruti Box's notes and reeds, both swarmandal sequences and the tuning that gives them their shrutis. It deliberately leaves taal, tempo, Base Sa, Fine Adjust, the re-trigger interval and the whole mix alone — those belong to you, your room and your speaker, not to the raag. SOUND AND STABILITY The mix has been re-balanced and locked by ear on both platforms. Occasional glitches during long sittings have been traced and fixed: the audio buffer now grows when a device needs it, swarmandal notes are never cut mid-ring, and the tanpura's filters rest when nothing is sounding. A phone call or another app now powers everything down and restores it afterwards; a notification is ignored. The tabla no longer fades in on its first power-on, and Fine Adjust returns every instrument to the state you left it in.

A metronome count-in, a practice clock, and the taal can now start from any matra. METRONOME COUNT-IN Set a count-in and the tabla waits for it. Choose how many clicks — two to eight — and how far apart they fall, from one a beat to one every two beats. The count-in has its own level, and it counts at the taal's own tempo, so the Tabla enters exactly on the grid you have just heard. START FROM ANY MATRA The taal no longer has to begin at Sam. Choose any matra and playback opens there, runs to the end of the cycle, and then continues in full avartans as usual. Useful for drilling a phrase that lands mid-cycle without waiting through the whole taal to reach it. BHAJAN OPENS WITH ITS PICKUP Bhajan now plays its pickup measure once when you start it, and hands straight to the theka. RIYAZ TIMER A practice clock on the Tabla tab in Theka mode, with Start, Stop and Reset. Stop holds the time so you can pause and carry on; it starts fresh each session. It runs on your say-so, not the tabla's — changing taal or tempo, or stopping the drums to think, leaves it running. SHUFFLE Re-triggers can now play Seq 1, Seq 2, or alternate between the two. If only one sequence has notes in it, that one is chosen for you. LINK NOW LINKS POWER The link between the two tanpura faders now carries the power buttons as well, so one tap starts or stops both. STEADIER TANPURAS The two tanpuras drift independently, as they always have. Occasionally they would fall into step and leave a moment where neither played. They now hold apart from each other, so the drone stays continuous. FINER TIMING ON iPHONE AND iPAD The tanpura's pluck timing is now ten times finer, matching the Android build. COMING SOON The full 22-shruti mode is still on its way and remains greyed out on the Tanpura tab.

Fine Adjust brings per-string control to both Tanpuras. FINE ADJUST A drawn tanpura neck with all five strings. Tap or swipe anywhere across it to pluck. Each string now carries its own Volume, Cents and Javari, set independently for each tanpura and saved into your presets like any other setting. JAVARI Javari draws out the bright, singing overtones a well-set bridge produces, and blooms them in across the opening of each pluck rather than switching them on. Raise it for a shimmering, present drone. Left at zero, the tanpura sounds exactly as it always has. A BLOOMING SWAYAMBHU GA The self-born Ga on the kharaj string used to arrive fully formed at the attack. It now blooms in over the first third of a second, closer to the way it speaks on a real instrument. REFINED TANPURA TUNING Four degrees have been moved onto their exact traditional shruti positions, tivra Ma among them. The shifts are small, and they let the drone sit more truly under a raag. COMING SOON A full 22-shruti mode is on its way. You will see it greyed out on the Tanpura tab; it is not active in this version.

A new library of tabla patterns, a richer tanpura, and a tabla that ends the way a player would. MANY MORE TABLA VARIATIONS — The whole pattern library has been re-recorded and expanded. Most taals now offer more variations at more tempos — Teentaal alone reaches twelve — and several have been reordered so the most musical choices come first. BHAJAN PICKUP — Bhajan gains a pickup measure. Tap Pickup and it enters on the next beat one, plays a single avartan, and hands straight back to whatever was running — theka, your chosen variation, or Auto Variation, which carries on undisturbed. A RICHER TANPURA — The swayambhu gandhara — the self-born Ga that a well-set jawari produces — is now drawn out of the kharaj string, tuned to the note being played rather than to the sample. The pluck attack has been returned to its earlier, more defined setting. STOPPING ON SAM — Switching the tabla off no longer cuts the stroke dead. The last stroke rings out and decays naturally, so you can end on sam and let it breathe. MORE RESPONSIVE CONTROLS — Power and Pickup now respond the instant your finger lands rather than when it lifts, so you can time a stop or an entry precisely. The mixer's pan and tone needles now read from the centre of each knob, so mirrored settings look it.
