Discovery TV: places you would never have looked for. DISCOVERY TV On video platforms, you only find what you search for. Discovery TV does the opposite: a live channel of landscapes, villages and paths that shows you places you didn't know. When a place catches your eye, « See the walks » opens its walks. You'll find it in « To discover » on the home screen, and it plays full screen. FOR TOURIST OFFICES In the Partner Space, you can now send your landscape videos. Once reviewed, they air on Discovery TV, in front of people who would never have typed your name, with a link to your walks.

Out and back walks, and fixes. OUT AND BACK Alongside the loops, the app can now offer an out and back walk: out along one path for half your time, back the same way. It turns round on time, not on distance, so it fits the time you asked for, and a pin shows the turnaround on the map. On the way, the map tells you when to turn back. If you record your walk, a notification tells you at the right moment, phone in pocket, and earlier if you are walking slower than planned. FIXES The map's messages during a walk now appear in your language. A station, a stop or an address can be tapped anywhere on its row. Notes about an imported GPX file and a few VoiceOver labels are now translated.

Official walks from tourist offices, with their photos. OFFICIAL WALKS When you look for a walk, the ones published by the local tourist office come first, with up to three photos and a few words about the path. Each one has been checked by our team. A QR CODE FOR EACH DESTINATION Scan a destination's sticker to see all its walks and keep the ones you like. The whole app follows, widget and Watch included. Elevation stays in metres. THE MAP, FULL SCREEN On a walk's page, one button opens the map across the whole screen. The compass no longer disappears when north is up, and tapping it puts north back at the top. YOUR WALKS IN YOUR CALENDAR A recorded walk can become a keepsake in your calendar, on the day itself: the time, the distance, the town, and a link that opens it again in the app. Never the track or your location, and the app does not ask for access to your calendar. ALSO When the service takes too long to answer, the app says so instead of blaming your connection.

A WHOLE REGION OFFLINE A saved walk already carried its own map. Now you can keep a whole area: you choose it by looking at it, the app says what it weighs before downloading, and it picks up where it left off. ASK FOR A WALK IN A SENTENCE "flat, shaded, under 2 hours". A field on the home screen reads the request and starts the search. NEXT TRIPS Write down where you are going and when. Two days before, a reminder offers to download the map while you still have a signal. The notification is local: nothing is sent anywhere.
