Ratings and Reviews
Simple yet Powerful.
Pages, as meant to be a simple and intuitive word processor, is a great software within Apple's iWork Suite. Honestly, when you first start using Pages—it almost feels like something that is too simple to work with. But the more you'll use it—the more it will make you realize how powerful it actually is (also than it's counterparts). The best part about Pages is that you can create gorgeous documents and share is seamlessly across Apple devices, and it can harness the power of the Continuity in, you can start off from another device, share easily with AirDrop, collaborate with friends and family!
Just for something that's made to be a word processor which you can get hold of easily, Pages hits the mark. And I definetely recommend it tp anyone—it's simply great.
a brilliant wordprocessor
i love pages, i just love it more than any word processor i have ever used. i had, up until recently, used Microsoft word, and i used to believe, a) what more can be done with wordprocessor, b) a word processor is a dull application, BUT pages changed all that. Pages is declutered and helps you focuss completely on your writing and nothing else. the UI is complex enough for you to achieve every tiny litle trick and yet minimal enough to hidden away from view. the native support on macOS is brilliant and the continuity cross device functionality is awesome. Good job Apple, now dont break it in the Future!!!
Ok for basic word processing.
I have been using this for a year or more. It is ok for basic word processing. Also documents can be formatted beautifuly. However there are a host of problems which reduce usability, especially when when one uses it extensively.
1. There is no way one can arrange templates as one wishes. There is no option to create template folders. This is disadvantageous as I typically have about 60 different templates.
2. In the finder the date created reflects the date the template was created(for user created templates), and not when the file was created.
3. There is no easy way to date stamp your documents - There is a provision to update the date in your templates, so when a document is created, it is saved with the appropiate date. However when one opens up the document again even for viewing, it again updates the date to the date when the document is viewed. This is highly inconvenient.
