What’s New
Version 6.7.1
We've made updates to our The Hindu app to improve performance and user experience. This includes bug fixes, updated SDKs, and changes to the app icon and name to match our new website. We've also addressed some issues related to dark mode on iOS 16. Some alignment issues in article pages also have been fixed.

Ratings and Reviews
App is crashing !!
I have paid the subscription fees for a year. The app was working fine until 2 months back when it started to crash on my iPhone. Here is what is happening:
When I open a news, the first thing which comes is an ad ( I don’t understand this because when I subscribed I thought it will be add free) and when I close the ad the Hindu app also get closed. It has happened literally 20 to 30 times in last two days. Please fix this asap !
Update - I am still facing the above problems. There are irritating ads and they simply won’t go even after taping the close sign for 10 times !! This is bad !! Please do something about it. I have already paid the subscription and still the ads remain the same.
Quality news in a not-so app
Purchased annual subscription (July 2022) , but the app experience is demotivating enough to not use it. (1) There is no easy way to get to the top of home screen while navigating or reopening the app. This is easily one of the most used actions on news apps. (2) Commenting mechanism is poor. Despite already being logged into the app, the commenting system asks to sign in again after typing in my views, which is redundant and unnecessary. (3) Google SSO is not working to sign in to the commenting system, which is one of the easiest ways to login. Google says Hindu’s ‘commenting system’s not secure enough and suggests it no longer allows this route to login. (4) Took a screenshot of the above and tried to contact the support from the app. I couldn’t find that option if there is really one (5) Tried to reach support from the App Store before writing this review. The link takes me to their website homepage. Is there really a mobile app team that maintains this app?

THE HINDU CAN LEAD BY ADDING MORE GOOD NEWS HEADLINES
I citrusy The Hindu more than other newspapers. That’s why we subscribe the printed version also
However, I recommend suggest and encourage you to look for, hunt and publish good news also. I count the number of good news headlines every day. The result varies from one to 3 out of 8 to 11 headlines. So I just read the good news for the value I pay every month. It sets the mind for the day. Your this subconscious mind advertisement will work for you to invite more subscribers when the read headlines and feel good for the day to go on.
Try and change for your own benefit while you can benefit the society. Thank you 🙏
