macOS Tahoe brings a gorgeous new design, Apple Intelligence features integrated into even more places, iPhone Live Activities right on your Mac, powerful Spotlight actions to get things done with just a few keystrokes and much more. Here’s a quick tour.

A beautiful yet familiar design brings a stunning appearance to windows, apps, the Dock and more. Crafted with Liquid Glass, sidebars and toolbars fluidly adapt to what you’re viewing, drawing more focus to your content.

In macOS Tahoe, Apple Intelligence is integrated into more apps and actions, giving you even more options to communicate, express yourself and get things done.

Live Translation can automatically provide translated text in Messages, live captions in FaceTime and spoken translations for calls in the Phone app. Plus, you can combine multiple emoji to create something entirely new – like mixing the sloth emoji with the lightbulb emoji when you’re the last one to get the joke. You also have more control over Genmoji and Image Playground images inspired by photos of family and friends, thanks to new options to modify expressions, hairstyle and more. Image Playground also lets you create fun images in more styles with ChatGPT.

Shortcuts can now leverage Apple Intelligence to summarise text with Writing Tools, create images with Image Playground and more. Using the powerful Use Model action, you can send natural-language requests to Apple Intelligence or ChatGPT and have the response feed right into the next action in your shortcut. And now with automations, shortcuts can run at a specific time of day or when you perform actions like connecting an external display.

Spotlight in macOS Tahoe is more powerful than ever. Easily filter search results to find what you want. Run shortcuts to send an email or message right within Spotlight. And set up quick keys that perform your most-frequent actions in apps – such as taking a layered screenshot using a photo editor – with just a couple of keystrokes.

Live Activities from the Lock Screen on your iPhone – like the latest score from the Apple Sports app or the status of your flight – can now show in the menu bar on your Mac. Click a Live Activity for more details; click again to open the app in iPhone Mirroring.

The Phone app is now on Mac. Make or take calls with a click and get convenient access to Contacts, Voicemail and Recents. Like on iOS 26, Call Screening prompts unknown callers to share their name and reason for calling before ringing, while Hold Assist keeps your spot in line when you’re waiting for a live agent.

The Apple Games app is your all-in-one destination for the games you love and the friends you love to play them with. Get suggestions for what to play next, see what your friends are into and invite them to competitive challenges on the Games app’s Friends tab. Apple Arcade’s incredible catalogue of more than 200 games – all without ads or in-app purchases – is here too, so there’s plenty to discover and play.

The new Accessibility Reader makes text in any app easier to read for users who are blind, who have low vision or who have other disabilities affecting reading. With Braille Access, users with a connected braille display can quickly take notes, read documents, access Live Captions, launch apps and perform other tasks. And Accessibility Nutrition Labels in the App Store, located on an app’s product page, tell you if features such as VoiceOver, Voice Control and captions are available in your favourite apps and games.

To help parents ensure their children are viewing age-appropriate content in apps, the Information section of an app’s product page on the App Store now shows the app’s age rating, along with sensitive content you may find (such as cartoon violence or mature themes), what controls parents have access to and capabilities like unrestricted web access.

Messages Create live polls in chats to make group decisions easier. Use new screening tools to minimise interruptions. And personalise any conversation with a custom background.

Journal Now on Mac, the Journal app makes it easy to capture your day with text, photos, videos, audio, locations and more.

Passwords The Passwords app now saves a timeline of changes for each account so you can see previous passwords you used.

Reminders Powered by Apple Intelligence, the app can now categorise related reminders into sections, and it will suggest tasks, follow-ups and even items to add to your grocery list based on emails, messages and other text on your Mac.

Notes Record conversations in the Phone app and they’ll be saved as audio recordings in Notes, complete with a transcription.

Photos Pinned Collections put your most-viewed collections right at the top, while selectable tile sizes let you customise your Collections layout.

Apple Intelligence is available in beta. Some features may not be available in all regions or languages.
