Next - Task & Money Management
Achieve your goals
Free · In-App Purchases · Designed for iPad
Accomplish big things, by consistently doing small things, every day.
Next combines task management and personal finance into a single system. It treats payments the same way as tasks, allowing you to plan, track, and complete both using one consistent workflow.
Organize what needs to be done and what needs to be paid. Schedule items in advance, set reminders, track due dates, and mark them as completed. Recurring payments such as loans or subscriptions can be automated, while overdue items remain visible until resolved.
Attach receipts, assign responsibilities, flag items for follow-up, and maintain a clear history of activity. Expected incoming payments and outgoing expenses can be managed alongside everyday tasks without switching between separate apps.
Next provides a unified space to plan actions and manage money together, helping you maintain control, stay organized, and execute consistently toward your goals.

Blog upgrade
We've improved how Next Blog content is stored and delivered behind the scenes. Posts are now served from a dedicated cloud database, which means faster loading times, better reliability, and a much more stable experience overall - no more hiccups if the old server was having a bad day. Nothing changes on your end - just open the blog and enjoy reading as usual. But trust us, it's a big deal under the hood.
Other changes
- Replaced Email and Telegram with a built-in ‘Contact us’ form - getting in touch is now faster and easier, right from the app
- General usability and performance improvements

Finance
Introducing Next Finance, a comprehensive end-to-end Personal Finance Management solution with Payments, Accounts, Budget, Currency Converter, and more.
What is a Task? It is something that we need to do. What is a Payment? It is also something that we need to do with our money. Both require planning, organizing, logging, and tracking. All attributes of a task are equally applicable to a payment. We plan them in advance and mark them as done when paid. If not paid on time, they become overdue. We recur them regularly, such as loan payments. We need to remember them, so reminders come into play. We may expect a payment from someone or need to pay someone, so we assign them. We may need to attach a receipt to a payment. We may need to flag it to check something later.
Aren’t we already doing all this with our tasks? So why should we treat them differently? Why keep separate apps for these very similar and very closely related activities, especially given the interdependency between the two? Not anymore.
Now every task in Next can be turned into a payment by simply adding an amount from the task menu. Every List that has a task with a payment automatically becomes an Account with a balance. Every Tag that is associated with a payment automatically becomes a Budget Category. All of this is complemented by a built-in Currency Converter with automatic exchange rate updates.

Managing tasks effectively requires both perspective and detail. The new calendar mode provides the flexibility to switch between week and month views, each designed to support different planning needs. Available under the Calendar mode menu on the main screen.
Public holidays import
Easily add all public holidays for any country to Next. From the Home screen main menu, choose a country to import its holidays directly into your calendar, keeping your schedule up to date without manual entry.
Links
We live in a world full of links - everyone shares, saves, and passes them around. Now you can attach links to tasks, and not just by pasting long URLs into task details, but by wrapping them with titles into clean, visually appealing labels. Accessible at the bottom of the task menu.
Rich text formatting
Task details now fully support rich formatting. Select any text and use standard iOS controls to apply bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, font size, color, bullets, numbering, and more.

Ads
After careful considerations we’ve decided to implement ads in Next. We understand that ads can sometimes be frustrating. Most often, this happens when ads are implemented incorrectly - shown at the wrong place, at the wrong time, or in an intrusive way. When done properly, however, ads can be relevant and even helpful, providing useful information without interrupting your workflow.
In Next, ads help support the ongoing maintenance, keep our servers running, cover operational costs, and fund the development of new features and improvements. By serving ads responsibly, we can avoid distraction for users while covering our needs. Premium users have the option to disable ads.

iOS 26 Support
Next has been redesigned from the ground up to fully support iOS 26, integrating all the latest features and functionalities, including Liquid Glass, providing a sleek, responsive, and visually immersive experience throughout the app.
Tag groups enhancements
We recently introduced a new feature, Tags – Year plan with Tag groups, which makes it easy to visualize important dates in one clear, layered view. The feature quickly became popular, with users requesting the ability to change a Tag group’s icon and tint color - so here it is. Available under Tag group - Edit menu.
Basic vs Premium
We’ve spent substantial time analyzing the core needs of efficient task management versus the value of advanced premium tools, aiming to strike the right balance for users who prefer a basic solution and those who want powerful support to achieve their goals. This work resulted in a carefully detailed and finely tuned subscription model, described in the profile section.
Other changes

Manage list groups and task sections
List groups and task sections help you stay organized by grouping related items together. You can now rename or delete both.
- List groups: Open the lists main menu, select Manage groups, then tap a group to rename or delete it.
- Task sections: Open the tasks main menu, select Manage sections, then tap a section to rename or delete it.
Introducing Tags bar
When a task list includes tasks with more than one tag, a Tags bar becomes available above the list. The Tags bar provides a quick way to filter and view only the tasks associated with specific tags, helping you focus on the items most relevant at the moment. You can easily enable or disable the Tags bar at any time from the task list menu, depending on whether you want to keep the view simplified or tag-focused.
List specific due date
Next already offers flexible due date settings, allowing conditional or fixed dates and automatic time adjustments. With the new list-level due dates, each list can now override the global default for its new tasks.

Major redesign
We are excited to introduce significant architectural improvements to Next. While some changes may not be immediately visible, you will definitely notice the difference:
- Everything runs faster, smoother, and lighter
- Calendar day and week swipes are now replaced with a more natural and fluid pan gesture
- The message centre now floats independently on top of the calendar, unaffected by day or week changes
- Search has returned to the navigation bar for quicker access, while the menu now focuses solely on Tools, and the year calendar is conveniently placed above the week view
- Countless behind-the-scenes improvements make Next more stable with lightning-fast data loading
Tags - Year plan
Plan your year with clarity by overlaying your tags on the calendar. Whether it is public holidays, family events, school breaks, or potential annual leave days, you can visualize all important dates in one clear, layered view. This makes it easier to spot overlaps, plan vacations, or simply get a better overview of how your year is shaping up.
Quickly add tasks to sections
You can now add tasks directly into a section. Simply tap and hold a section title to create a new task within it. This makes organizing your lists faster and more intuitive, while still allowing you to create tasks outside of any section if you prefer.
Add from Clipboard
Clipboard content is now monitored and detected text is offered for quick task creation.
Multiple reminders
You can now set multiple reminders for a single task, giving you greater flexibility and control. Reminders can be scheduled on the due date itself or at different intervals before it, helping you stay organized and never miss a deadline.

You can now assign a due date when closing a task that previously had no date set. This allows for better tracking and consistency, even for tasks completed without a predefined schedule.
Custom RAG colors
By default, Next uses the following RAG (Red-Amber-Green) color scheme based on a task's due date:
- Red – the due date has passed
- Amber – the due date is today
- Green – the due date is in the future
- Black – the task has no due date
You can now customize these colors to better match your workflow or visual preferences.

Advanced prioritization
Next's prioritization system is already highly effective, but we're taking it to the next level. With advanced prioritization, you can now assign priority levels ranging from 1 to 50. This added granularity ensures your tasks are sorted with even greater precision, tailored exactly to your needs.
Searching
Global search in Next is a powerful tool for finding anything you need. However, there are times when you might want to focus on specific tasks within a list or locate a particular list itself. Additionally, the search settings allow you to define exactly what should be matched during your searches.

Fine-tuned calendar navigation
Previously, to navigate to the next or previous day, you had to swipe only at the bottom of the Calendar screen, which often caused conflicts with iOS's default app-switching gestures. To improve this, we've now enabled swiping anywhere below the week row of the calendar to change the day, and we've moved the Flag and Delete task actions into the general task menu, which you can access with a long tap on the task.

Next custom recurrence feature already offers great flexibility to fit your unique schedule. Now, we are taking this flexibility to the next level by adding the ability to set tasks to recur at hourly intervals. This feature can be particularly useful in a variety of scenarios, such as:
