There's a warning on the next leg. The kind that used to mean tapping through a wall of text to find out why. Now it surfaces right there, Apple Intelligence condensing it to a line you can act on. You reroute. The app fills in where you're standing — no need to type it. Your destination stays. Nearby stops grew compass arrows. So did the widget. Walking out the wrong exit is harder now. Live Activities got a proper clock and a platform line. The Dynamic Island shows what remains: countdown, destination, where to be. Notifications skip past departures that already left. Stops open Look Around. A handful of layout details that add up over a long commute.

She got off at the wrong stop. Not far off — one station — but the street names meant nothing and she wasn't sure which way to walk. She opened Nearby. An arrow rotated toward each stop on the list. She turned until the nearest one pointed straight ahead and walked. That arrow is new in 4.9. Every stop in the Nearby list now shows a compass direction, updated as you move. The widget does too — a small colored badge in each row, so you know which way to go before you've even unlocked your phone. The reroute button got a proper workflow. Tap it mid-journey and the app reverse-geocodes where you are, keeps your destination, and plans a new route from the ground up. It pops back to the search screen, fills in your location, and searches automatically. You don't have to type anything. Nearby stops now load instantly from cache when you relaunch. No spinner. The address of where you are appears in the title — geocoded quietly in the background, the same way the widget has done it since last update. There's also LookAround for stops now, a share button for departure info, and the support section got a proper redesign. The small things: platform badge in Live Activities, compass hiding on the last walking leg, translate button disappearing once everything is translated. All of those landed earlier in 4.9 and are part of this release too.
