It surfaces patterns you wouldn't have spotted, flags things worth paying attention to, and keeps everything organised so you never have to be. Your iPhone's motion and activity data feeds in too. Echo. sees the full picture — not just what you tell it, but what the data shows. AT THE VET When you walk in, you're not reconstructing history from memory. Echo. has a complete record ready: allergies, medications, chronic conditions, vaccination history, and a health summary your vet can actually use. You decide who can see it and for how long. The biggest change in this release: Owner Location Sharing. When your pet goes missing, every minute counts. This update introduces a smarter way to close the distance between you and a finder. You choose how this works. Set your location mode to Auto and Echo quietly tracks your approximate position in the background using Apple's significant-location changes — the lowest-power, least-invasive method iOS offers. Set it to Off and nothing is collected. There's no always-on tracking, no constant GPS drain. When someone scans your pet's tag, Echo logs the finder's location at the moment of the scan. Combined with your own last-known position and the tag's registered home zone, that gives you three independent reference points — enough to triangulate a meaningful picture of the situation. Are you close? Is the finder moving away? Is the scan happening somewhere familiar or somewhere unexpected? Echo surfaces the answer immediately, so you can act rather than wait. On the privacy side: location coordinates are never shared with other users or third parties. Finder location is captured once, at scan time, and tied only to that scan event. Your last location is stored as a blurred position — accurate enough to be useful, not precise enough to expose your movement patterns. You can turn the whole system off at any time from your profile. The result is that a scan notification becomes actionable in seconds instead of minutes — no back-and-forth with a stranger required.
