Spero sistemino. Comunque ne vale la pena

Excellent app that I use every day. The main benefits of using this app (rather than pen and paper flash cards) to learn kanji are (1) the correction is automated, and (2) it keeps track of those you get wrong and right, so it focuses your time on the ones you still need to learn. One feature I would like is to be able to flag a kanji as “I got it wrong” after the app claims I got it right, when I’m not happy with my own effort.Another nice to have feature would be the option “write the hiragana for this kanji yourself from the keyboard”, rather than “choose 1 of the 4 options”.But five stars, anyway. I’m learning kanji and I’m having fun doing it. I can turn any ten minutes of spare time that would otherwise be wasted into fruitful time.

Kanji mancanti

Mancano alcuni Kanji dell’N5. Considerando di aver pagato l’app e di essermi ritrovato all’esame senza conoscere i kanji che avrei dovuto conoscere mi sembra abbastanza chiaro perché abbia messo due stelle. さよなら

Good, but…

The app is very useful, but it can be frustrating at times. In the exercises where you have to choose the correct meaning of a word, some of the options are just way too similar, sometimes to an unreasonable extent. For example selecting “woman” for 女 is considered a mistake because the correct option is “woman, female”. This just feels straight up unfair. I think there should at least be a “don’t count as mistake” option for every exercise since getting one of them “wrong” simply because you got confused and tapped “travel” instead of “to travel” can feel very frustrating (I get that one is a verb and one is a noun, but it’s very easy to absent-mindedly tap one when you meant to select the other). Also, since I mostly use the app to learn how to draw the kanji (I already have an Anki deck to learn full words) it would be useful to have a separate mode where you can exercise drawing the characters exclusively.
