Studio-Precision Audio Engine
Jamison runs a 32-bit float internal audio pipeline for maximum headroom and processing accuracy, ensuring transparent playback and artifact-free DSP. Its dual-player architecture enables true gapless playback with preload buffering, while an advanced crossfade engine offers equal-power, linear, and S-curve transitions.
A 10-band fully parametric EQ with real-time spectrum analyzer allows detailed tonal shaping. Optional peak limiting and TPDF dither are available for controlled output and device compatibility. Core Audio integration includes hog mode, hot-plug device detection, and selectable buffer sizes for stable playback across professional and consumer hardware. Sample rates up to 192 kHz and bit depths up to 32-bit float are supported with bit-accurate output.

Jamison’s SQLite-based library engine handles 100,000+ tracks with instant FTS5 full-text search across titles, artists, and albums. Create smart playlists using a flexible rule system. Import music via drag and drop with automatic metadata scanning. Tracks can be rated inline with a 0–5 star system.
Transparent, Living Interface
Jamison’s interface blends retro inspiration with modern macOS rendering. Transport controls echo classic SoundJam lineage, while the library sits inside a curved glass container that can become fully transparent in X-RAY mode. A Metal-accelerated real-time spectrum visualizer animates playback, and a floating mini player keeps controls accessible without occupying your workspace. Multiple EQ color palettes let you adapt the visual tone to your setup.
The track table is powered by a native NSTableView bridge for smooth 60 fps scrolling even with very large libraries.
Keyboard-First Workflow
Space for play/pause. Cmd-Arrow for next/previous. Cmd-K for instant search. Cmd-Option-I opens the track inspector. Typing directly in the track list filters results immediately. Full media key support is included.
