PUB 4DAT — the Author Operations Center — began as the system I built to run my own books and publishing work. I'm sharing it as a tool to help indie self-published authors and small publishers track every title from one clear operational source of truth.
Most author tools solve one isolated problem. Author Operations Center brings the work together. Maintain author and title information once, organize each publishing operation from the same record, and stop copying the same details between disconnected tools.
Version 1.0 helps you:
- Operate from a command dashboard that surfaces current work, publishing health, issues, and deadlines.
- Maintain canonical author, book, manuscript, contributor, description, publication, and publisher information.
- Group print, ebook, audiobook, and other ISBN editions beneath one title record.
- Track reserved ISBNs and import or export portable CSV and JSON records.
- Compare metadata across catalogs, distributors, retailers, and your own website.
- Record retailer listings, cover-image status, pricing, sellers, availability, and evidence.
- Prepare copyright information, filing records, deposits, notes, and publication-based reminders.
- Organize press, media, speaking, event, venue, review, interview, website, download, reader, and analytics missions with local readiness checklists and authoritative notes.
- Keep working records local, without an account, advertising, telemetry, or tracking.
The product follows one operating principle: maintain information once, publish everywhere. Future connectors and document generators can produce press kits, one-sheets, event materials, website pages, platform exports, and media packages from authoritative records rather than duplicated files.
Optional external lookups run only when you request them. Author Operations Center organizes publishing and copyright information; it does not provide legal advice, file government registrations, guarantee detection of every listing, or claim to publish automatically to unsupported destinations.
