今日に限って、梅雨は小休止。
放課後の廊下は青春の音に満ちている。
奏でているのは実にさまざまな、無数の部活たち。
俺も、部室に向かっていた。
『廃部申請書』を手に持って。
もうすぐお別れとなる慣れ親しんだ部室に居たのは、
見慣れぬ一人の少女。
俺の原稿を勝手に読んで、楽しそうに微笑んで――
そうして、俺を見つけて言い出した。
「２年Ａ組、桧ノ原つぼみ。創説部に入部します」
「どうしても続きが読みたいんです！
私、先生の作品の――先生のファンなんです！」
こちらをまっすぐ射る眼差しは、まるでサーチライト。
キラキラ輝く眼差し。夢を見る瞳。
抗えないひたむきな気持ちに心を動かされ、
俺は桧ノ原の提案に乗った。
――こうして、創作と取材と青春と恋の夏が幕を開けるのだった。
