衛生管理者とは、労働安全衛生法において定められている、労働環境の衛生的改善と疾病の予防処置等を担当し、事業場の衛生全般の管理をする者、またはその資格（国家資格）です。一定規模以上の事業場については、衛生管理者免許等、資格を有する者からの選任が義務付けられています。
