DACT is a purpose built app for people interested in the history and transmission of plainchant. Links to online resources including the Cantus Database and Cantus Index are at your fingertips, along with access to our SoundWalks providing images and recordings of manuscript and printed liturgical sources.
The DACT app highlights contributions from partner and co-investigator projects around the world.
The app uses Bluetooth Beacons to show you relevant content based on your location in the SoundWalks. Please note that you do not have to be in any specific location in order to access any of the content in the app.
The app also uses Bluetooth Beacons to detect proximity to exhibits when the app is running in the background. It will trigger notifications when you are close to an exhibit. As with all apps that use Bluetooth Beacons in the background this can dramatically decrease battery life. Scanning for beacons can easily be disabled in the app by pressing the prominent Automatic Triggering button.
