Background
National Board RCI-1 / NB-263 requires that each Repair Inspector and Authorized Inspector performing Codes duties shall maintain an Inspector Diary and monitor the Certificate Holder's quality program on a continual basis. The purpose of the diary is to provide a record of the Inspector's activity and to support continuity of inspections. The inspector diary shall be available at the location of inspection and must be maintained for a minimum of 5 years.
Most of the AIA are maintaining hardbound diaries at site, however handling and retrieving those bound dairies are bit challenge and with Covid-19 outbreak it become trickier to physically handling hard bound diaries.
Both ASME and NB allows electronic diaries however the requirement it must be under the complete administrative control of the AIA and secured in such a way as to prevent revisions, additions, or deletions to entries which have been previously logged in the diary.
Utility
This application addresses all those requirements, user inputs are transferred to a PDF form which is locked and cannot be altered later. These PDF inspection report can be sent via email to administrator and can be stored in company own cloud storage and can be accessed remotely from anywhere. Not only report can store indefinitely but also available for auditing purpose making life easy for all.
Data entry can be made by writing in the application or by speech to text (transcription) making it easy for those who are not good with typing or slow to write, hence making it quick data entry possible for people of all ages.

There is no such app available in the market to facilitate and meet all the requirement of the regulator and ease of use.

Hardware Access
User to provide access to Camera for picture taken from Camera or library and attached to inspection report, microphone for transcription and internet access to send the report via email. No data is collected by anyone. User can safe their data on their own server / cloud

This is paid application, you can download the app from App Store for free however monthly or annual subscription is need before you can use any of the function of this app. Purchase can be made by going to the menu of the application. Terms and condition are also provided there.
