Previews now play the way your drills do: as the scrolling track, page turns or reading lines, following your playback style. Preview grids look the same before and during playback. Path previews keep playing from slide to slide.

Fill Maker fixes: fills now save exactly as you drew them, crashes inside a fill are kept, and drawing in the bar after a fill asks whether to edit the beat or change the fill's length. Shared fill pictures now match what you see in the editor.

Import sheet music (beta): photograph printed drum notation or open a MusicXML file, and the Beat, Fill and Exercise Makers turn it into a drill you can edit and play. Photo imports use one upload from your monthly pool — your account screen now shows how many are left. Plus import fixes for changing time signatures.

Exercise builder improvements, audio fixes, and more accurate difficulty ratings.

Loop a passage of any song. Set the A and B points on the timeline, drag them where you want, and the section repeats until you've got it — made for working a part out by ear. You can also preview a track straight from your Songs list: tap the artwork to play, tap again to stop.

Learn mode can count you in. Every play in Learn now starts with two bars of stick, like a drill does, so you can come in with the pattern instead of chasing its first bar — and a Count In checkbox in the footer turns it off. Plus fixes and performance improvements.

Built-in backing tracks: nearly 100 royalty-free tracks by genre and tempo — rock, funk, jazz, gospel, Latin, metal and more — with the drums already out and a click on every grid. Under Songs › Built-in, included with All Access. Songs now has Mine, Built-in and Playlists tabs; built-in tracks download for offline and go in playlists. Fill Maker: groupings — threes, fives and sevens with their stickings, chained across the bar. The click's accent on the 1 now plays from the first bar.

Song player: set the click's accents note by note — accent, normal, ghost or silent on every subdivision of the bar — and correct a song's time signature when we hear it wrong. Also fixes a crash when starting a practice session on iOS 17, and a bar number that wrapped inside its dot on long drills.

Song player improvements: • Lock screen controls — play, pause and move between songs without unlocking • Playback keeps going when the screen turns off • Choose your click sound right from the player, with previews • Accent the 1, nudge the click grid, and shift the downbeat • Tracks at zero volume grey out so you can see what's off • Smoother header and a fix for the click dropping out while scrolling

Songs. Upload a song — a rehearsal take, a demo, the track you're learning — and play along three ways: the band without the drums, the drums alone, or the full mix. Slow it to half speed at the same pitch, ride a click that follows the take bar by bar, and loop a bar range inside a session. One a month free, 150 on All Access. Your uploads stay private: never shared, listed, or searchable. Also new: export any pattern as MIDI for your DAW, or MusicXML for a notation app.

The scrolling track: the line stays put and the beat comes to it, on the grid and the staff alike. Pinch to see one bar ahead or four. Chokes and the crash ride: tap a cymbal's row label to choke the crash, china or splash, or crash the ride. Each has its own sound and mark. Folders for your paths: group the paths you make into folders on the Mine tab, nest them, and move them. Quarter-note triplets: three notes across two beats, from a beat's subdivision menu. The grid, the staff and the count all follow.

Placing notes got smarter: kick, snare, toms and crashes start on an accent, so the stroke you meant is one tap away. The fill editor now outlines where the beat ends and the fill begins — and Sticking Only practice no longer re-voices that groove. The grid shows several bars at once like the notation does, page turns move a whole page, and Arrange follows whichever view you're in.

Placing notes is quicker. A tap now writes an ordinary stroke first, then a ghost, then an accent — so the note you reach for most is one tap away. Kick drums lead with the accent. Your notation sticking preferences (kick, hi-hat pedal, lowercase ghosts) now follow your account across devices.

The PAS 40 rudiments, built in. Rudiments Lab — a new Exercise Labs door. Pick from the 39 playable International Drum Rudiments, see each one in notation, and tap to hear it before you choose. Flams, drags and diddles play as written, so a Flam Tap and a double stroke roll are finally different drills. Chain rudiments together and give each one its own subdivision, or put them all on one grid. Ask the AI for a rudiment by name — a paradiddle, a ratamacue, a flam tap — and it builds the real thing, straight off the chart.

Some of the most requested features in your feedback — thanks for sending them in. Diddles — tap a note with the new diddle tool and it plays the same hand twice, without changing the grid. The staff draws the slash through the stem. Drags — the flam tool writes drags too. Pick Flam or Drag in the tray, tap a note, and you get two grace notes instead of one. Drag to paint — hold an empty cell and drag to lay the same note across every cell you cross, sticking and all. Building a run of sixteenths is one stroke now. Also: grace notes on the first beat now sound ahead of it instead of on top of it, and ornaments survive a pocket lean.
