School taught you standard English. FluentIn teaches you how people on that street — and in that industry — actually talk. You already know the words. What you miss is the local version: "on line" instead of "in line", "deadass" instead of "seriously", "let me get a regular coffee" instead of a full sentence with please. FluentIn drills exactly that gap. HOW IT WORKS • Read the situation in your language (English or 繁體中文). • Hold the button and say it the way a local would — or tap the blanked word and type it. • Get one of three verdicts: Local — that's how they say it. Close — meaning right, wording not local. Not it. • Local or Close reveals the card: the phrase, who says it, where it's safe, where to avoid it, where it came from — and, for many phrases, a real clip of someone saying it. • Not it? The answer stays hidden. Try again, ask a friend (share the question as a card — to a real friend or your AI assistant), or pass for now. FluentIn is not a question bank to race through: going to find the answer is what makes it stick. WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT • Every phrase carries a social card: age, community, register, the rooms where it lands and the rooms where it doesn't. • Real speakers, not voice actors: hear the phrase in the wild via YouTube. • A judge that knows the difference between "right meaning" and "right wording" — the feedback textbooks can't give. • Five hint levels, from one blanked key word to nothing at all. Complete a pack at a harder level and its badge upgrades: green, bronze, silver, gold, dark. PACKS • Fluent in New York — bodega, stoop, yerrr, the train, OD, brick, on line… • Fluent in Silicon Valley — LGTM, ship it, on call, runway, TC… • Fluent in Wall Street — priced in, bips, comp day, the staffer… • Fluent in Coffee Shops — order like a regular (unaffiliated with any chain). • Fluent in Tainan and Fluent in Shanghai — the local Mandarin: 牛肉湯、府城、阿拉、拎得清… (answers in Mandarin). More cities and industries are on the way. For intermediate and advanced learners: people moving to a city, joining a new workplace, or tired of missing the joke. Speech recognition runs on your device via Apple's speech framework. Optional: add your own Gemini API key in Settings and an AI judge explains the grey-zone answers. No account. No FluentIn servers. Nothing sold.
