HamSat is the satellite tracker built for amateur radio operators — now with an Apple Watch companion that puts pass tracking and antenna aiming on your wrist.
NEW — APPLE WATCH (Pro)
• Your next favorite pass on your wrist: live azimuth, elevation, Doppler-corrected frequencies, and a countdown to AOS
• Guided wrist-aim — follow an arrow straight to the satellite and feel a haptic tap the instant you're locked on. Aim your antenna without looking at a screen, hands free for the radio.
• Propagated on the watch itself, so it keeps tracking even when your phone is out of range
PASS TRACKING
• Live sky dome with the satellite's arc and a glyph riding it in real time
• Fullscreen Live tracker — big AZ/EL, Doppler-corrected frequencies, landscape split-pane
• Aim mode uses your phone's compass to show where you're pointing, with hints telling you exactly how much to tilt and turn
• Apple Maps ground track with horizon footprint
OPERATING DURING A PASS
• Doppler-corrected RX (and TX for SSB/linear) dial frequencies, updated every second
• 10-minute and AOS notifications that deep-link straight to the pass
• Live Activity + Dynamic Island on the lock screen, elevation and azimuth ticking live
• Bell badge on any pass you've set an alert for
ROVER PROOF PHOTOS
• Stamp a photo at your site with your callsign, grid, satellite, and UTC time — proof of where you were on the air
• Fresh photo or one from your library; share to X, Messages, AirDrop — or submit for the AMSAT Rover Award
ALWAYS OVERHEAD (free)
• Lists any geostationary satellite in your sky — QO-100 (Es'hail 2) for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East
• "Find it in the sky" — point your phone and check your line-of-sight to the bird is clear
• No Pro required for geostationary satellites
SATELLITE CATALOG
• Friendly designations everywhere — SO-50, AO-91, RS-44, JO-97 — with launch names as subtitles
• Search by name or NORAD ID
• Curated radio data for the most-worked birds, plus live SatNOGS for the long tail
• Filter by mode (FM, linear, beacon, data, telemetry)
ACCURATE & OFFLINE
• Full SGP4 propagation on-device — the model the pros use, so times and positions match apps like ISS Detector
• Works completely offline — every pass, sky dome, ground track, and Doppler computed locally. No API keys, no rate limits.
• Multi-source TLE: race CelesTrak vs. AMSAT, or pin one
• Settings shows how fresh your orbital data is
PRIVACY-FIRST
• Your location stays on-device — nothing about you is sent to any server
• Orbital data from public sources (CelesTrak, AMSAT, SatNOGS)
• No accounts, no tracking, no ads
HamSat Pro — the field operator's toolkit
• Apple Watch tracking & guided wrist-aim
• Fullscreen Live tracker with second-by-second Doppler (landscape split-pane)
• Live in-pass Doppler — corrected RX/TX at AOS, max, and LOS
• Overhead-now live tracker for your favorites
• Unlimited scheduled alerts — not just three
• Shareable Rover proof photos
One-time purchase, no subscription.

2.0 6月18日
Fixed AO-91's uplink and downlink, which were reversed.
• QO-100 is now correctly shown as a linear (SSB/CW) transponder rather than FM.
• The live tracker now shows AMSAT-accepted names like RS-44 and QO-100.
• Aim guidance holds steady while your compass settles, instead of jumping when you open the tracker.
• Added a Save to Photos button to Rover proof photos.
1.12.2 6月16日
- Rover proof photos now stamp your altitude above sea level, alongside your callsign and grid.
- Larger, higher-contrast aim guidance in the Live Tracker — easier to read at arm's length while you're pointing an antenna.

A new orbital engine, built right in.
HamSat now computes every pass with a full on-device SGP4 propagator — the same orbital model professional trackers use. The result: sharper pass times and live positions that match apps like ISS Detector, working completely offline.
What you'll notice:
• More accurate, always consistent. Pass times, the sky dome, the ground-track map, the live position, and Doppler all come from one precise engine — so they always agree with each other.
• Works anywhere. Out in the field with no signal? Tracking keeps running. Everything is computed on your device from orbital data you've already downloaded — no network, no API limits, no waiting.
• Quieter and faster. No more "service unavailable" notices or rate-limit pauses.
Tip: pull to refresh now and then to keep your orbital data current — the fresher the data, the sharper the predictions days out.
Thanks to the operators who reported position discrepancies — your reports drove this rebuild. 73!

Fixes and polish:
• Fixed a timezone bug that could shift satellite positions by several hours for operators outside Western Europe when orbital data came from the AMSAT catalog — positions now match reference apps worldwide
• Pass dates now show the day of the week ("Mon 8 Jun") and are easier to read
• The Home "favourite satellites" count now matches your active filters
• Small wording fixes
1.10.5 6月13日
Corrected FO-29 (JAS-2): it's now properly listed as a linear (SSB/CW) satellite instead of FM, so it shows up where you'd expect when filtering. Thanks to Pete G0ABI for catching it.
1.10.4 6月7日
More field-ready: your Maidenhead grid now shows right on the live tracker, the Doppler offset is larger and easier to read mid-pass, and a new SSTV / Imagery filter surfaces image-downlinking birds like UmKA-1, Vizard-Meteo and QMR-KWT-2
1.10.3 6月5日
Fixes for two issues reported by paying users: (1) the 'Using default coordinates' warning now correctly appears during the brief window between granting location access and iOS delivering your real position, so the app no longer silently uses a default location; (2) the FM Voice filter no longer surfaces satellites whose listed FM transponders aren't operationally usable for typical amateur stations (Taurus-1, ESEO).
1.10.2 6月4日
Fixes an issue where the pass list could omit daytime passes when N2YO data was active. All radio-workable passes now appear regardless of whether the satellite is visually observable
1.10.1 5月31日
v1.10 brings a major orbital-mechanics upgrade — satellite positions and pass timing now stay accurate as orbital data ages, down from significant drift in previous versions. Tap into any satellite to see its upcoming passes right there, alongside the radio setup. Settings now surfaces orbital-data freshness so you can spot stale catalogs at a glance and refresh on demand.
1.10 5月26日
Live satellite passes now reliably appear in the Home and Passes "Overhead now" sections as soon as a satellite comes overhead
1.9.2 5月19日
Improved ISS pass prediction accuracy. ISS times and elevations now match other tracking apps reliably, even when N2YO data isn't available.
1.9.1 5月17日
Updated build with improved readability on the Home screen (Live-sky caption, status banners) and a corrected operational status for AO-91
1.9 5月14日
Smoother Pass Detail — the embedded sky dome and ground-track map now update every second in lock-step with the fullscreen Live Tracker
Render the full AOS-to-LOS arc from TLE, and keep AOS/LOS pins locked across the entire pass.
Plus better contrast for the Live-sky footer caption and the catalog-refresh banner on the main screen.
1.7.1 5月10日
QO-100 and other geostationary amateur satellites finally have their own home in HamSat.
• "Always overhead" section on the Home tab lists any GEO bird in your sky right now (QO-100 for European/African ops).
• "Find it in the sky" button on the GEO satellite detail — aim your phone to verify line-of-sight from your QTH is clear of buildings, trees, or terrain.
• Aim mode now teaches itself: when the phone is pointing at the floor, a hint reads "Tilt the back of the phone toward the sky" instead of the reticle silently disappearing. Numeric "Aim N° up, M° left" guidance now also appears in the fullscreen Live tracker.
• Fixed: duplicate scheduled alerts when two prediction sources disagreed on AOS by under three minutes.
• Fixed: QO-100 no longer creates stale "60-minute in-progress" entries that cycled on every refresh.
1.7 5月5日
• Live tracker (renamed from Tracker) now rotates to landscape — sky dome on the left, AZ/EL and Doppler-corrected RX/TX frequencies on the right.
• Pass rows in Home and Passes now show a bell badge whenever an alert is scheduled, so you can see at a glance which passes you'll be notified about.
• Live Activity reliability: cancelling an alert now also dismisses the Lock Screen / Dynamic Island banner across app restarts, multiple alerts rank correctly by soonest AOS, and long-pass satellites (RS-44, ISS) no longer silently fail.
• Removed the "Accuracy mode" Settings toggle — N2YO quota is now always reserved for your favourites + ISS, which is the right default.
• Pass detail clarifies "uplink = TX, downlink = RX" inline, in case the convention ever comes up.
1.6 5月3日
Fixes empty pass list when N2YO data isn't available for favourited satellites. Favourites now fall back to local TLE estimates so the list is never silently empty.
1.5.1 5月1日
Fullscreen pass tracker — big sky dome with live bearing/altitude and Doppler-corrected dial frequencies.
Open from the LIVE section. "In progress" section on Home so you never miss a pass that's overhead right now.
Friendly amateur designations everywhere — SO-50, AO-91, RS-44 — with launch names as subtitles.
Search still matches both.
Live bearing + altitude readout pinned to the sky dome.
Pass detail status flips correctly: countdown → "Pass underway" → "Pass ended". The Set alert button greys out after AOS.
Choose your TLE source — Auto (races CelesTrak vs. AMSAT) or pin to one.
Per-source filter on the satellites list.
Smarter N2YO usage — about 5 calls per refresh instead of 80.
New Reset N2YO cooldown button in Settings.
Shared filters live behind a toolbar button so the screen leads with content again.
Lists auto-refresh every 30 s — passes migrate from Next to In progress on their own.
Plus pass detail keeps showing "Pass complete" with elapsed time after LOS, the Passes tab splits Overhead-now from Upcoming, the satellites catalog sorts naturally (AO-7 AO-91 AO-100), and a batch of catalog/dedup reliability fixes.
1.5 4月29日
Live Activities — Set an alert and watch the countdown on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, all the way through AOS to LOS. Tap to deep-link straight into the pass detail.
Hilltop ops — Minimum elevation slider now goes down to 0° for unobstructed-horizon operating.
Settings stick — Beginner mode, filters, and elevation preferences now persist across launches. No more reset on cold start.
Search by OSCAR / RS designations — "RS-44", "JO-97" and others now find their CelesTrak entries directly. JO-97 added to the curated metadata.
South Pacific operators — Pass map fixed for ground tracks crossing the antimeridian (180°E/W). Tracks now render correctly on both sides of the dateline instead of slicing across the whole map.
Plus the new pass detail hero strip (countdown, pointing summary, handheld-suitability — always visible), cleaner iOS 26 tab bar adapting to Liquid Glass, deep-link routing from notifications, and several stability fixes.
Thanks to operators on AMSAT-BB, the iHam Satellite Spots community, and Daniel Ayers for the dateline catch.
1.4 4月27日
Polish release based on real-world use:
• Tap a pass alert to jump straight to that pass — no more hunting for it after the notification.
• Pass detail now opens with a live countdown, your pointing direction, and handheld suitability front and center — no scrolling needed.
• Faster cold starts. The app drops you straight into Home while the catalog loads in the background.
• Cleaner tab bar that adapts to whatever's on screen.
• Settings tidied up — pull-to-refresh is now the one way to update.
• Smaller layout fixes throughout.
Thanks to everyone reporting feedback in the AMSAT-BB and on the iHam Satellite Spots community.
1.3.1 4月25日
Scheduled alerts overview — see every upcoming pass alert you've set, with AOS time, elevation, and a tap-to-cancel action. Settings → Alerts → Scheduled alerts. No more guessing what's queued.
Grid locator (Maidenhead) — your 6-char QTH grid now shows on Home and in Settings → Location, derived live from your position.
All modes for multi-mode birds — satellite detail now lists every coordinated transmitter SatNOGS has on file, so you can see the crew-voice, FM repeater, and digipeater slots for birds like the ISS and CSS at a glance.
Battery-friendly refresh — HamSat no longer re-fetches the catalog every time you return from Control Center; only after being in the background for 15 minutes.
1.3 4月24日
HamSat 1.2 — catalog & sky dome fixes
• Wider satellite catalog. Brand-new amateur birds (like SAKHACUBE-CHOLBON / RS18S) now appear as soon as AMSAT lists them, even before CelesTrak picks them up.
• Accurate sky dome. Pass arcs are now propagated directly from the TLE, so the peak elevation on the dome matches the number in Pass details.
• More visible refresh indicator on Home.
73!
1.2 4月22日
• Live Sky on Home — a world map showing your favorite satellites in real time
• Sky Dome replaces the flat elevation chart with a pseudo-3D "looking up" view
• Aim mode turns your phone into a viewfinder to point at the satellite
• Map now shows the satellite footprint circle and extends the ground track past AOS/LOS
• Doppler is now RX-only for FM birds, both for linear
• TLE age visible; several SatNOGS misclassifications fixed
• Passes refresh automatically after returning from background
1.1 4月21日
HamSat 2.0 — now on your wrist.
• Apple Watch companion (Pro): live azimuth, elevation, Doppler, and a next-pass countdown, all computed on-device.
• Guided wrist-aim: follow an arrow to point your antenna at the satellite, with a haptic tap when you're locked on — aim without looking at the screen.
