Good but could be more efficient

I’ve been using this app for over a year now, almost daily. Besides the issues with writing you see others mentioning, the reviews take way too long and are not adjustable. I do roughly 4 new Kanji a day, and thus review daily. Even so, I find myself having to open the app 2 to 3 times every day to do reviews so that it doesn’t take more than an hour all at once the next day. Despite having the ability to adjust review frequency, I have found that this adjustment doesn’t change anything about volume of review at all. For somebody who would like to review in 10 to 20 minutes, having it take longer than that consistently despite opening the app multiple times every day to review is a pain.

As you get to later kanji more difficult… it will say that you messed up… but I have no idea (this is on multiple kanji) what I did wrong. It doesn’t offer any advice… so sometimes it’s just a guessing game (oh it needs me to go one ml farther) Tbh. It would be nice if there was actually some written guidelines for more tricky kanji. “This line must be not be straight” “Make sure you line isn’t longer than this” Otherwise it’s just trail and error… and you’re never really sure why it keeps saying you’re wrong even when you do the strike order correctly.

Nice app the only bad point is that there is no way to do a custom review allowing you to start from the kanji recognition instead of starting from the English word. This means that when you do a custom review you will ALWAYS get the English word first and then you have to select the corresponding Japanese word + kanji and you cannot do a custom review starting from a kanji finding the English word. So if you are looking to be able to read only and not to write, the custom review is useless.

Sync issue across devices makes it hard to use

I do like this app and I prefer it to similar spaced repetition apps. However, I use it across two devices: iPhone and iPad. My progress used to sync between the two perfectly. Unfortunately, it has stopped syncing. I reset the iPhone app thinking it would resync properly but that just deleted all my progress on the iPhone app. It seems there is no way to restore progress to that of my iPad app, despite them both being signed in to the same WiFi and Apple account. This is disappointing as I had reached N3 level. It makes it hard for me to continue using the app.
