MooCow is a private vault for your photos, videos and audio, locked behind a passcode and Face ID or Touch ID.
Your files stay on your device. Photos, videos and file names never leave it unless you choose to share them, and MooCow needs no account. Whenever you leave the app, the lock screen covers everything until you unlock it again.
Why the name MooCow? It's an inconspicuous name that sits on your home screen without drawing attention, and you can switch to an alternate app icon.
PLAY ALMOST ANY VIDEO
MooCow's built-in player handles the formats iOS can't, including MKV, WebM, AVI, WMV and FLV. Choose audio tracks and subtitles, load subtitle files that sit next to a video automatically, keep watching in Picture in Picture, and pick up where you left off.
CUSTOM THUMBNAILS
Make every folder look the way you want. Long-press a video and choose any frame as its thumbnail, using a zoomed timeline for frame-by-frame control. Then pinch and drag to crop exactly the square you want. Photos can be cropped the same way.
FAST, ORGANIZED FOLDERS
Sort everything into folders, shown as a grid or a list. Thumbnails are sharp, scrolling stays smooth even in large folders, and video and audio lengths show at a glance.
IMPORT FROM ANYWHERE
• Your photo library, including Live Photos and GIFs, with the option to remove the originals from Photos after importing
• The camera
• Files, and the share sheet in other apps
• Your computer, with the built-in Wi-Fi File Manager or Finder file sharing
VIEW AND LISTEN
Swipe through photos in a full-screen viewer, watch videos in the built-in player, and play music and audiobooks.

Play almost any video
- MKV, WebM, AVI, WMV, FLV, MPEG-TS, MPEG-2, OGV and RealMedia videos now play, with thumbnails and durations.
- More audio formats too: FLAC, OGG/Opus, AIFF, CAF, AC-3, AMR and M4B audiobooks.
- Import them from Files, the share sheet or the Wi-Fi file manager.
- Choose audio tracks and subtitles. Subtitle files placed next to a video load automatically.

Custom thumbnails
- Pick any frame of a video as its thumbnail: long-press a video, then Choose Thumbnail. A zoomed timeline gives you frame-by-frame control.
- Crop thumbnails by pinching and dragging inside a square, for videos and photos alike.

- Sharper thumbnails, and smoother scrolling in large folders.
