Have you ever missed the iTunes notification when the song changed? Do you find it too much effort to open the notification center or right click the Dock icon when you can't quite name the song that is playing?
Maybe you're just too busy.
It doesn't really matter the excuses. WhatsOn leaves the song title in your status bar full time. That's it. Nothing magical, just complete convenience for the hard workers we all are.
Includes Spotify support, so no matter your music source preference, the title is always visible!
But wait, there's more! Click on the song title and view the album cover, more song details, and song control (forward, back, play and pause).
No scrolling, no blinking, just the title (and optionally, the artist). Enjoy.

While excited for the new Catalyst version, the last update (3.1.0) broke WhatsOn for those pre-Catalyst users. With the change from iTunes to Music, there are still a number of bugs to work out. Look for many regular updates.
This version should get everyone back in shape!

Long awaited changes! First and foremost, player controls are now in the main pop-over. No more need to right click. I kept the right click pop-over for those that do like it, or are used to it. This may come out in future versions.
Added option for dark icons when using Spotify (the green is not enjoyed by everyone).
Album artwork is back for Spotify!
Several other bugs found and fixed. Thanks to those that reported.

A note on suggestions, I can't directly respond to reviews, so please continue to leave them, but also send suggestions to info@neumeier.net in case I have follow-up questions.
WhatsOn will check for both iTunes and Spotify and present song information for which ever is currently playing. Clicking on the album art still brings up the artwork, but for Spotify we must go and retrieve it from them, so it won't work if you are "offline" listening to Spotify.
Added visual progress meter in a sleek interface in the popover.
Added ratings for iTunes. This can be found in the player controls.
Click the gear icon for access to enabling and disabling new features! Remember, the #1 goal of WhatsOn is to display in your task bar the title of what's playing. Sleek, easy, simple.

While reviews are slim, I take them to heart! The most popular request is "Icon too large" or "I don't want icons!". Well, lucky I listen well, both options are there.
I reduced the foot print for the status bar icons, and faded them, and they are on by default. Give them a try!
If you still don't want icons, in the menu, you can check or uncheck to show them (stop, pause, now-playing).
Also by request, from the the menu, you can check or uncheck to show the artist in status bar. Default is off. On small screens it can get cluttered.

This version brings iTunes control to the status bar. Embedded in a right click popover from the song title, its not in your way if you don't want it.
Also have "cleaner" images for now playing, paused and stop that is more inline with other status bar items and colors.
